The entire production of the Tudor Rose saga was shot on location in the Colorado Springs area.
Director Sarah R. Lotfi ended up designing and sewing 5 period costumes, three of which were made to match the contemporary portraits of the characters the actors would portray. Anne Boleyn's black velvet gown is identical to the iconic portrait of her by an unknown artist, that today is on display in Hever Castle in Kent. The National Portrait Gallery in London owns the portrait of young Henry VIII's red and black attire that Ethan Eagar(Henry) models in Tudor Rose. While Holbein's classic sketch of a downcast "lady of the court" carrying her skirt before her was the inspiration for the Jane Seymour hat and gown Sarah made for the short film.
The inspiration for the short was from the first line in Robert Burns' famous poem "My love is like a red red rose".
