Many of the cast and crew have connections to The College of New Jersey, including director Scott Nap, editor Michelle Dunlap, production artists Adrian Lazaro and Colleen Napolitano as well as several crew members. The show was developed while Scott Napolitano was working for TCNJ's bookstore and as a result, offered positions to several colleagues and film students as a chance to gain experience.
Tom Hanley (Jared) and writer/director Scott Nap both developed film projects surrounding the haunted sites of their respective campuses at the same time in 2005-2006. Both were featured in major news articles at the same time. They did not realize their connection until after Tom was cast as Jared.
Dan Halden (Leslie) joined the cast early in pre-production. Series editor Michelle Dunlap joined the crew weeks later. The two former classmates did not realize they would be working together until the initial table read in September 2008.
The store location where the series filmed, Comic Relief, is an actual comic book store, and was open for business during production. This is the same store where writer/director Scott Nap worked while in college.
During the filming of Jackson's holdup, several pedestrians inquired if there was a real robbery in progress. Several crew members were posted outside the store to warn people not to be alarmed.
