This programme was part of the Back to the... series of documentary clip show and countdown shows, in a celebration of the four decades Channel 4 has been broadcasting, reminiscing its most memorable and iconic television shows. The second episode, presented by Vic Reeves, celebrated the best TV shows, including drama, comedies, documentaries, children's TV, gameshows, music TV, chat shows, reality TV, sports, soap operas, and lots more broadcast on Channel 4 during the 1990s. This was a countdown of the 20 most popular shows, as voted by the viewing public. These 20 shows were: Graham Taylor: An Impossible Job (1994), Time Team (1994-2014), Escape to River Cottage (1999) / River Cottage Forever (2002) / Hugh's Fish Fight (2011), Scrapheap Challenge (1998-2009), Queer as Folk (1999-2000), Brass Eye (1997 and 2001), The 11 O'Clock Show (1998-2000), Grand Designs (1999-present), The Word (1990-1995), Drop the Dead Donkey (1990-1998), Nigella Bites (1999-2001), Vic Reeves Big Night Out (1990-1991), Hollyoaks (1995-present), Eurotrash (1993-2001), The Big Breakfast (1992-2002), Don't Forget Your Toothbrush (1994-1995), TFI Friday (1996-2000), Father Ted (1995-1998), The Crystal Maze (1990-1995 and 2013-present), and number one was So Graham Norton (1998-2002) / V Graham Norton (2002-2003). Other programmes mentioned during the show were: Northern Exposure, E.R., Sex and the City, The Sopranos, The Camomile Lawn, G.B.H., NBA Raw, Subbuteo The IV Panini Subbuteo World Cup, Trans World Sport (including kabaddi), Football Italia, Frasier, South Park, and Friends.
