Keith Moon was the drummer for legendary rock band The Who. On January 4, 1970, Moon allegedly struck and killed his chauffeur Neil Boland with his Bentley, while attempting to flee a mob of angry skinheads as he and a group of friends left the Red Lion in Hatfield (UK). Moon was drunk and did not drive under normal circumstances but allegedly acted to save his friends from the mob. Moon pled guilty to drunk driving and driving without a license or insurance but was later cleared of all charges. Some theorize it was actually Kim Moon - Keith's wife - who was behind the wheel of the car. The tragedy haunted Moon for the rest of his life. He died of a Heminevrin overdose in 1978.
