Condolence messages and obituaries are pouring in from across the globe. Dev Anand, the most charismatic and lively star I knew, is no longer amidst us, but he leaves behind a body of work that's hard to erase from our memory. I have had the privilege of interacting with Dev-saab on a couple of occasions. His zest for life was unparalleled, his passion for cinema was unmatched, his mind would be constantly thinking of newer stories that he'd like to tell the world. My last interaction with the legend was during the release of his film Chargesheet. In mid-September, I received a call from Dev-saab, who wanted to chat with me about his new film and his plans for the future. This was one opportunity I didn't want to miss. We fixed a date and time. Unfortunately, the shoot had to be called off since he wasn't feeling too well on that particular day.

Mumbai, Dec 4: From 'Baazi' in 1951 to 'Chargesheet' in 2011, it was an untrammeled joyride through six decades of Bollywood. It's curtains for the ageless Dev Anand, who oversaw the growth of the Hindi film industry from the black and white era to technicolour, and leaves behind a unique legacy of a star who had moved way beyond his cinematic works.
He acted, he directed and produced... almost till the end with his last film 'Chargesheet' being released this year when he was all of 88 and still raring to go, as ebullient and ageless as ever. Reviewing 'Chargesheet', a well known critic put against the rating 'irrelevant'. It truly.

Mumbai: Dev Anand had a long interview with the media just a few days before his birthday which is on 26th of September. He has shifted to his office from his home, as his house is getting renovated. He will be 88 this birthday, and he is all ready for his release on 30th this month of his film named “Chargesheet – A murder mystery”.
Dev Sahab says he never had a pompous celebration of his birthday as a superstar generally has. But he receives a lot of phone calls from his fans asking him to meet them. It does not matter to him when his contemporaries never wish him on his birthdays, he says they are too.
