- TriviaThe program begins with a cameo appearance by Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, who promote the Muscular Dystrophy Fund drive in which they are participating. The Redettes perform a production number leading up to the appearance of vocalist Dorothy Shay, nicknamed the Park Avenue Hillbilly, who sings "Sage Brush Sadie." A US Army General then requests Dorothy and the Redettes if they would agree to perform a Thanksgiving Benefit for two soldiers who have been stationed at the North Pole for two years gathering weather statistics. They agree. The two servicemen at the weather station are Red, as Private Red Skelton, and James Flavin as his Sergeant. The troupe entertains the soldiers during which Dorothy sings "Blah, Blah, Blah."
