So incredibly disjointed, the show badly missed its rich array of wonderful eccentric characters, it also missed, I'm sad to say, the laughs. If you're watching this expecting belly laughs, forget it, Politics Live probably has more laughs.
On the plus side, I personally really liked how she dealt with Black Lives Matter, it was sensitively done, and for the BBC wasn't preachy, it did make me think, I also liked how the show dealt with Alice Tinker, she was warmly remembered, in a delightful scene.
Sadly, the jokes were non existent, it wasn't funny at all, and the perpetual preaching about Covid became exhausting, the final episode was almost insulting to those of us that have adhered to the rules rigidly, even over Christmas. Could we not have had a finale that gave us an escape from Covid? That final snippet far from being funny, was actually depressing.
I applaud Dawn as always, there is no denying just how good she is, but I feel she deserved much, much better material, watch an old episode, remember what this show used to be, then watch this, like comparing an MDF dining table with a vintage one made of solid oak.
A sad way to sign the show off, prove me wrong and return with something funny, and some glorious new characters. 4/10.
