Racing In The Rain
Here's a short subject about the Belgian Grand Prix of 1955. We get a view of the actual competitors taking in their practice run the day before the race begins; it's raining, so there's no expectation that new records will be set by any of the thirteen cars, and no sense that any of the teams are strong enough to defeat the Mercedes team. No no one competes to lose, and there are some notable racers of the era -- unfortunately, the only name I recognize in Stirling Moss. Everyone, the narrator assures us, looks confident.
This is a movie that if you like the sport it covers and have some interest in its history, you'll like it. Otherwise, it's a bunch of people driving their cars as fast as they can in the rain.
