Part 1 of 4. Bobby Flay joins the judges' panel, as returning champions compete to win the chance to beat chef Bobby. In the first round, Scandinavian fish and sugary cereal test the competitors. Later, they are given floury syrup and an onion with sprinkles for their entrée dishes. Finally, desserts are made with a cheesy sandwich, some jelly and one of Bobby's favorite ingredients.

The challenge faced by the competing chefs is to make the perfect midnight meal. In the first round, fried foods and a trendy cocktail are creatively re-imagined. Then, prized mushrooms and a much craved street food are used to make entrees. In the end, the finalists aim to wake up the judges' palates with breakfast flavors.

Part 2 of 4. Four returning champions compete for a chance to beat Bobby Flay. Their first challenge involves a seafood that needs tenderizing and a canned product. Then, entrees must include a king of the sea and an icebox cake. Finally, the judges worry how an ice cream made with one of Bobby's favorite ingredients will turn out, given that there's trouble with the machine.
