Interesting short film about a very interesting Nigerian historical figure. Would love to see a full fledged movie or TV mini-series about the life of Mrs. Kuti someday. She was treated very badly by the Nigerian government of her time but she seemed to be undaunted in her fight for the rights of women and the under-classes in Nigeria and subsequently inspired those beyond. There is a current ground swell in her home country to get a government apology and her image on one of the denominations of the Naira currency. Uncertain if there is a commercial market for her life story but if the success of the "Fela" Broadway show is any indication, anything is possible with the right vision and creative forces and muster behind it. This to could get a wider platform and larger scale release someday.
