The film's writer, director, producer and editor, Peter James Iengo, is a graduate of Five Towns College located in Dix Hill, New York. He later briefly taught a course about independent filmmaking at the school.
In 2018, the film's original director of photography conducted an informal Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) featured in the RedLetterMedia subreddit. The former DP stated that three days into shooting, he walked off the production because he felt it was being run unprofessionally by the film's director, Peter James Iengo, and was "a shitshow". He stated that his breaking point came while filming a scene depicting a drive-by shooting in a Staten Island neighborhood. According to the former DP, Iengo ignored his concerns about the safety of the actors and crew as, "there was no safety prep, no permits, no nothing". After two takes, a gun used in the scene that was firing live blanks began making unusual noises. Apparently the gun jammed and expelled blank casings frightening the crew. After NYPD officers arrived on the scene (having been called by citizens who heard gunshots), the DP packed up his equipment and left the production with his crew and never returned.
In one scene, a cop wears his badge upside down. The director claims this was done intentionally because it was a real badge on a fake cop. His logic was that no one would know if the badge was real if it was upside down because it would be "unreadable".
In 2018, the film was featured on the first "Black Spine Edition" episode of the YouTube series Best of the Worst (2013).
