The director reckons that about 85-90% of the dialogue is as it was written in the original script. However, because the cast had to learn many pages of dialogue at a time (with some dialogue scenes lasting 10 minutes or more) there was inevitably some paraphrasing in the final performances.
The only dialogue that was truly improvised on the spot was a small section of Mary and Jim's conversation on the way home from the train station, starting with Mary's line "So, seen any good films lately?" and ending with "How much can they charge for a drink?". This was because the actors got through their written dialogue quicker than anticipated. Also, the dialogue when they're walking towards Jim's house (when the camera is following them from behind) was slightly altered in post-production - some lines were changed or even taken out completely to improve the flow of the scene.

No. The film-makers did not have the resources to have the streets cordoned off, so they filmed at 6am on a Saturday morning. It mostly worked - there were no pedestrians for the scene where Jim and Mary are walking, and only a couple of pedestrians when Jim and Jeff are waiting for the taxi. Cars were a bit of a problem, however. There was more traffic than anticipated (especially during Jim and Jeff's scene), so most of their dialogue had to be dubbed afterwards.
The film starts at Weybridge Station in the town of Weybridge in Surrey, England. The taxi driver is told by Jim to go to Kingston hospital, but before he gets there Jeff tells him to pull over just before Hampton Court bridge. The 12 minute taxi ride covers approximately 6.2 miles. The route the taxi driver takes is illustrated here:
