When Erez, the lone soldier, enters the Arab village, we see posters on a long wall of a man we assume to be a guerrilla fighter because of the bandanna around his head. The man in these photos is in fact Salim Shehade, the production's set designer, posing as a chef of a local sushi restaurant. This parallels the soldier's story: the village he fears upon entering it will not only turn out as safe but even help him on his quest.
The flashbacks to the soldier's childhood were shot on 16mm film to make the soldier's past more vivid. The rest of the film was shot on DVCAM format.
