This 23-minute documentary covers a lot of interesting and illuminating ground on how the various visual effects were done for the creature feature "Cloverfield." The bulk of the New York City street scenes were done on a studio set in front of a green screen, with such things as fire, smoke, the monster, and demolished buildings all added digitally in post-production. Moreover, the Brooklyn Bridge set piece was a combination of CGI and the actual bridge while the sequence in the subway tunnel was done on a set built on a loading dock. In addition, puppets were made for the parasites and a mold was made of the monster which was subsequently created through CGI. Recommended viewing for fans of the film.
