- TriviaThere are some winks to Sherlock Holmes in this episode. The writer's home is called Abbey Grange, which is a reference to a Holmes story by that name. There is a reference to a clue found in a butter dish, which is a sort of reference to "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons," where it's mentioned that Holmes deduced a crime by the depth to which parsley had sunk in butter. Also Arthur Conan Doyle grew to hate Holmes though the detective stories made him rich and famous, which parallels the author and his creation in this story.
- Quotes
Chubb: Would you say the two of you were happily married, Lady Pye?
Lady Frances Pye: I've always thought marriage and happiness to be mutually exclusive, Detective Inspector. But that's just my opinion.

The plot thickens.
Crimes from the real world, and the written world are explored, two very different murders.
Very enjoyable, I liked the first episode, it perhaps took a little time to figure out the plot, and learn what was going on, this second episode somehow seemed to make a little bit more sense.
It is so unusual, so very different, but this format is definitely working in my humble opinion.
Fine acting throughout, Lesley Manville truly is a class act, 8/10.
