Adam Ant commissioned a team of film makers to follow him around to make an in depth commentary about the DIRK spring tour of 2014. After initial filming started the idea was eventually dropped and all emphasis went into a complete 'live' show experience instead. The film turned into 'Dirk Live at the Apollo' which featured just that particular live show, without any other footage used. Also captured was the proceeding 100 Club show a few days later. This film was an added extra on the official DIRK live DVD.
The film is dedicated to guitarist Tom Edwards (aged 41) who died on tour in America on the 'Kings of the Wild Frontier' tour of 2017.

The documentary took a few years to complete. It was filmed during the spring of 2014 principally in and around London, then finally edited in 2016 and made ready for viewing and distribution as late as March 2017. It still remains in the vaults. Blueblack Hussar have yet to approve its release.
