An Entertaining Romp

Harmless goofy fun is the best way to describe this short comedy sketch from actor Scott Schiaffo, best known to indie film fans as the loud mouth maniac "The Chewlies Gum Rep" from Kevin Smith's classic CLERKS.

No foul language or exploitive "shock" tactics here, just plain old silliness. However to write it off as complete fluff would be to miss the point. Schiaffo's performance is so over the top goofy that it's subtleties wash over you and win you over, like it or not. Schiaffo wears this character like a second skin.

Mo is a cross between one of the Sopranos and one of the Wu Tang Clan! And somehow Schiaffo makes this character harmless and endearing.

The plot is oversimplified, a vagabond tries to sell his used junk on the street corner, it lacks any real storyline which is my main critique, it's too loose, it goes nowhere but for some reason you still take the ride hoping this guy makes a sale or connection. The makers of this piece along with Schiaffo know this and are in on the joke as one of the tag lines on the box art is "A must see for anyone with 10 minutes to kill" I actually saw this piece at the infamous Arlene Grocery Film Festival in NYC and it received a very warm response. It was a little out of place at this particular festival as this festival had come to be known for it's shocking and often disturbing screenings, I Got Stuff was refreshing in the sea of violence, sex and general debauchery. I thought to myself if it could be endearing to this crowd then there's more here than meets the eye.

My notions were correct because this same character was tapped to play the lead in a low budget comedy "Idiots Are Us" and also makes an appearance in Creepy Tale: Girls Night Out.
