How an Indecisive Cast Led to 20+ Years of Development Hell
Earlier this week, I wrote an open letter to those Ghostbusters fans staunchly opposed to the new film. My goal in doing so was to try and take a toxic conversation and find some middle ground between the two sides. While there are certainly people who truly hate the concept of an all-female Ghostbusters remake for purely sexist reasons, my gut tells me that there are also people who have suffered through decades of Ghostbusters production rumors only to find that their long-awaited sequel was never going to happen.
And partially in good faith — and partially out of curiosity — I figured now might be a good time to remind younger readers of just how messy the whole Ghostbusters III debacle truly got. What follows is not the full transcript of all media references to Ghostbusters III, but an abridged version of they key players and key quotes...

A digital artist-in-residence has been given a free hand to create the ambience for London's new supercasino
A non-gambler might imagine the casino to be a dingy, smoke-filled basement where booze is trafficked and the sun never shines. That's how it was. But it might be time to revise your preconception as London's biggest and newest casino has the gambling joint of old graduated to a centre of entertainment, and this one has turned to art to make its atmosphere new and unique.
The Hippodrome Casino has commissioned the country's first digital artist-in-residence, whose task is to capture "the spirit" of the Hippodrome. It seems an anomalous combination – gambling and aesthetics – but it's in the ethos of a new kind of supercasino this place is introducing.
£50m has been spent on restoring the Grace II* listed building to its Edwardian splendour, adapted to the 21st century, with the blessing of...

It's not much of an exaggeration to say "Dexter" has virtually reinvented itself in its electrifying seventh season, which debuts Sunday, Sept. 30.
Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) discovery that Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is a serial killer fundamentally changes their relationship -- in a very "dangerous" way, Carpenter tells Zap2it.
"At any second, I can say, 'enough,'" she explains. "One of us could go down at any second, and we both know it. And in fact at one point I threaten it, [saying], 'I'll take you and me down together. This is going to go my way.'"
And Carpenter relishes Deb's new power.
"I've never had the upper hand with Dexter," she says about her character, who since her promotion is her brother's boss as well. "Sometimes I feel like he tests me, like he makes assumptions about my character and how I'll behave from moment to moment."
Her relationship with viewers changed as well.

The first two minutes of Dexter‘s Season 7 premiere are killer.
The episode picks up right where the Season 6 finale left off, with Deb walking in on her brother with one of his… projects. And the dysfunctional siblings waste no time getting right into it, as fans at Comic-Con saw when the clip was screened at the show’s panel on Thursday.

Thanks for welcoming our newest celebrity blogger, Marissa Jaret Winokur! The actress, who co-hosts the new CBS daytime chat show, The Talk, is mom to 2-year-old Zev Isaac with her husband Judah Miller. Winokur, 37, was diagnosed with cervical cancer nine years ago, had a hysterectomy and later welcomed her son with the help of a surrogate. Though her road to motherhood had a few twists and turns, she faces the same joys — and challenges — as any working mom. In her latest blog, Winokur tells of accidentally locking Zev in the car — and feeling judged by other moms for it.
