A deep, thought provoking film and extremely well made
I was fortunate to come across The Sound Eye through the lead actor Wassim Hawat.
After watching a trailer and hearing other good reviews around, I took the plunge and paid a mighty $7 (absolutely well spent) to watch this film.
I was really blown away by how confident the film is from the get go, It very cleverly takes its time to deliver character beats and story arcs as its own pace, deliberately without giving too much away and allowing the viewer to uncover some twists and turns with the main character Vincent (Wassim Hawat).
The Sound Eye is a solid film delving deep into faith, morality, retribution and revenge, love, betrayal, fate, acceptance, loss and the ability of one's self to move on. And recover from personal trauma
I was particularly blown away by Wassim Hawat's performance, stealing the show with his wide range of emotions. There was a particular scene between his character Vincent and Gloiria (Shakila Zab) where you can truly see the happiness in Vincent's eyes and how head over heels (quite literally at one point) he is with this woman.
The Sound Eye is an extremely solid film with some deep meanings well worth discovering.
Highly recommended for fans of independent cinema with a psychological twist.

Masterfully builds tension and intrigue!!!
The performances are captivating across the board, and very well portrayed with depth and nuance, adding layers of complexity to the unfolding drama.
Visually, this short film is striking, with atmospheric cinematography that captures both the beauty and darkness of its setting and a haunting sound design, from the opening scene, throughout the heightening tension, the film keeps audiences on edge until the heart-pounding finale.
Overall, "The Sound Eye" is a true gem offering a unique riveting exploration of obsession and revenge, propelled by strong performances, atmospheric direction, and a compelling narrative makes this film a must-watch for anyone craving a thought-provoking and exhilarating journey into the depths of the human psyche.

A most compelling watch!
One of the most compelling films I have watched. The acting and cinematography, music and sound effects all gel perfectly to enhance this story about love and betrayal and the consequences that lead to the destruction of ones mental state. Wassim Hawat gives a strong believable performance that exudes an equal combination of empathy and fear from the audience. Well directed, performed and edited brilliantly. From beginning to end this film captures your imagination and takes you into the characters eye, the sound eye title is so appropriate as you become one along with the protagonist seeing through the lense of his world.

The Sound Eyes Review
The sound Eye is a highly polished and emotional project that draws a viewer into both romantic entanglements and also a intense traumatic lens of a troubled photographer's camera, and which reflects both his core beliefs and then explores the dark corners of his remorseful interior. Exploring this deep journey into a personal hell can be harrowing, as the cinematography grabs hold of the viewer and does not let go for the duration of the film. A unique vision propels this work forward with many surprising twists and turns, leaving the audience breathless as the protagonist, Vincent, unwinds in his quest to find some small pieces of meaning and purpose in his life by the film's ending credits!

What a Movie
If you're looking for a movie that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you thinking long after the credits roll, look no further than the film I'm about to review.
From start to finish, I was completely captivated by the main character's story. I connected with him on a level that I didn't expect, and the way his emotions were portrayed on screen was nothing short of flawless. Every feeling was conveyed with such rawness and authenticity that it was impossible not to empathize with him.
The character in question is a lonely man who has been consumed by his own grief and the bottle. He's unable to forgive others or himself, and as a result, he's unable to find peace. The film takes you on a journey through his struggles and his pain, and as an audience member, I found myself rooting for him every step of the way.
What impressed me most about this movie was the execution. The pacing was perfect, and each scene was shot in a way that allowed the audience to feel every moment as deeply as the main character did. The cinematography was beautiful, and the score perfectly complemented the mood of the film.
In short, this is a movie that everyone should see. It's a powerful story that will leave you feeling a whole range of emotions, and the main character's journey is one that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled. If you're looking for a film that will make you feel, this is it.

deep and insightful
This film offered a deep and mindful way to understand the mixed emotions of characters passing through difficult circumstance. The script and directing for a short film is simple yet effective, not visually complex and is impactful to the audience viewing.

Highly recommended experimental film...
Originality with experimental origins makes this film a must see. Has all the qualities of a break out release for future productions of this genre. The filmmakers have intentionally taken subject matter we often see and have told it in a non linear fashion. It uses narration and imaging to convey it's message to the audience. The Editing is superb and engaging. Even though it runs for a little over 30 minutes it still keeps you absorbed in the drama. Six hundred characters for a review is too long, I think what I've written is enough to convey the message about this film. It still asks me to write more even after clicking submit with I think is... Anyway the filmmakers have a great future ahead of them. Looking forward to see the next installment.

The Sound Eye Review
What a pleasure it has been to work on this amazing project as a co- executive producer, producer, lead actor, narrator, co-writer, stunt performer and stunt coordinator. Such a unique character driven story concept, visually stunning with an astonishing cast. It was such an absolute honour to work with such ridiculously talented cast/crew on this project especially my good friend and partner Rodney Mansour.

A work of art
From the first frame to the last, the movie feels like a heartbeat. It hooks your and takes you on a journey. It challenges you and totally surprises you with every minute
It makes you think and leaves you pondering. The actors do an amazing job and preserving the mystery and presenting the inner dialog of the characters.
The bilingual manner in which she story unfolds takes you even deeper into the bowels of this sophisticated plot.
Absolutely loved it. A movie you will watch more than once, with breathtaking videography.

Powerful Australian Film
A great psychological story in which sees the protagonist played by the talented Wassim Hawat, portray such a complex character with a gritty vulnerability which kept me engaged from the moment he entered the first scene till the very end. A powerful and truthful representation of what I call, a real human being and a story that we all can relate to. Great twists and turns. Brilliant cinematography, editing, as we see great pace that keeps the story flowing and moving towards a climax that is unexpected and a real. Great work guys. I definitely gives this a top rating with one of the best films I've seen so far. This team of film makers are definitely on my radar and a team I will be honoured to work with.

Absolutely Impressive
Some of the things that I loved about the film:
Themes were really clear - I loved the way that religion was constantly conflated with the protagonist
The length was perfect for the story
The contrast of the suburban Australian setting with the supreme nature of god was fascinating
A lot of the shots were super impressive, especially when character's were physically reflected through the cross
Character's obsession with marriage and love - he was indoctrinated into worshipping these seemingly perfect and pure ideologies and his world fell apart when they were dark and complex.
Themes were really clear - I loved the way that religion was constantly conflated with the protagonist
- through him using the camera, playing "god" by being the videographer and the subjects of the film being his pawns
- through the conflation of religion with violence, what can truly be forgiven?
- the silencing of women, it appeared the protagonist put his love on a pedestal, which is common In religious practices, and once her purity was shattered he became undone

Not your average short - An intense character study
Faith. Culture. Psychology. Camera. Romance. Philosophy. Masculinty.
All these discourses of ideas are competing for attention in the mind of the main character Vincent.
This short is epic in its scope as it occupies the fractured headspace of an obsessive videographer out for vengeance as he tries to make sense of why his past relationship with his love, Gloria, didn't work out.
Narrated almost completely from Vincent's perspective, with minor intrusions from other characters, we watch Vincent seek revenge on the man who robbed him of a future with Gloria.
A seemingly simple story idea but told with layers of meaning and symbolism that elevate it above the normal fare and doesn't let the auduience off the hook very easily.
Cinematography, editing and sound are expertly at the service of striking performances that make this a powerful little story that will generate much discussion afterwards.

Deep and thoughtful concept
Captivating short film , exploring number of emotions in change of circumstances. Through the lens of his camera, photographer himself captures and experiences the contrasts of love and jealousy and faith versus evil.
It has a very interesting concept and well edited.

A very engaging experience
The Sound Eye is a deep character study that is filled with unique shots and scenes, keeping the audiences engaged at all times. I loved the use of both Arabic and English in the voiceovers, and how it goes into the different perspectives of the characters. The film was put together very well where the visuals, score and sound effects all complement each other perfectly. A pleasurable watch all the way through!

A refreshing take on the psychological genre...
What drives a man to question his sanity? Faith, jealousy, rage, love, rejection... something as humans we've all had to deal with in life. These topics and more are explored in such a way that you've never seen before. Definitely keep an eye out for these two brilliant filmmakers. A refreshing take on the psychological thriller genre. The Sound Eye sure does pack a punch and keeps you guessing from beginning to end. Goes to show that if you have creativity, determination and a flair for good storytelling you need not a big Hollywood budget. Qualities that Wassim Hawat and Rodney Mansour obviously have in spades. I look forward to seeing what these two cutting-edge filmmakers come up with next.
