  Young Alex : [pulling up]  Guys, time to go. That reporter's right behind me.

  CJ Grant : [pulling up just as they leave and seeing the bus depart, too]  Luckiest town, my ass.

• Young Kara : So, Alex, you still haven't explained why you put off going to Europe.

  Young Alex : And you still haven't told Kenny about National City University.

  Young Kara : I haven't decided.

  Young Alex : Kara, you just got accepted to the college of your dreams. I know Midvale College is solid, but...

  Young Kara : And it's also where Kenny and I have been planning to go since last year. I just... I just need to find the right time to tell him.

  Young Kara : I don't know! I haven't decided what I've decided.

  [as she floats into the air, Nia enlarges the bubble so it envelops her] 

  Young Alex : [entering]  What are you doing?

  Young Kara : [falling onto the bed as the bubble "pops"]  Uh... sh... showing each other what we can do.

  Young Alex : Well, neither of you are doing that tomorrow. Kenny just texted. He and Brandon are gonna be working on fixing that box thing, so while he's doing that, we're using mom's ID to slip into the college, where we can get as much dysprosium as we can. Then we part ways.

  Nia Nal : I understand. You're all taking a big risk helping us. I promise we'll be gone as soon as we can.

  Young Alex : Thank you. Get some sleep.

  Young Kara : [getting into bed as Alex leaves]  Alex can be a control freak, but you get used to it.

  Nia Nal : I'm sure I will.

• CJ Grant : [mistaking Alex for her mother]  Excuse me, Professor Danvers. CJ Grant, Daily Planet. I'm looking into some of the events that have inspired this place to be named "the luckiest town in America." Apparently, six months ago, one of these phenomenons happened here.

  Young Alex : [feigning ignorance]  Oh?

  CJ Grant : Yes, nearby construction caused this column to dislodge and nearly crash onto a group of students. But before it could, the column seemingly flew back into place, saving everyone.

  Young Alex : [stealing a glance at Kara and Nia]  Wow. Wow. Wow, that is amazing.

  CJ Grant : Mm-hmm. Well, that's the legend. What I want is the truth. As a professor, Dr. Danvers, you must have heard something. Your students can chime in, too.

  Young Alex : Oh. Oh, actually, um, my students have just a big, big project to get to.

  Young Kara : [taking Eliza's ID]  Oh, right.

  [she leaves with Nia] 

  Young Alex : Still, still, I can say a few words. Uh, I believe that we need to look at the facts, and the facts here suggest that nothing in Midvale is worth finding. Absolutely nothing.

• Young Kara : So... the reporter didn't say anything about me specifically?

  Young Alex : No, but she gave me a feeling like she believed me, but if we make a misstep, she's gonna pounce faster than a speeding...

  Nia Nal : [a big rig blows by them with no warning]  That guy almost killed us!

  Young Alex : Yeah, and his truck is full of gas. Who drives like that?

  Nia Nal : [astral-projecting into the cab]  No one. In that truck, no one's at the wheel.

• Young Alex : We'll never catch up to that truck.

  Young Kara : I've got it.

  Young Alex : Kara, no!

  [Kara flies over to the big rig and gets in the cab] 

  CJ Grant : [on the side of the road]  Where am I? There's got to be some story in this backwater.

  [the big rig zooms past, blowing her map and coffee cup off her car hood] 

  CJ Grant : [taking pictures with her phone and catching the tail end of Nia's powers]  That is not normal.

  Young Kara : [accidentally stomping the brake pedal through the floor]  Oh, the... the brakes don't work.

  Nia Nal : [trying to shift gears]  Gear shift, either.

  Young Kara : [spotting danger ahead]  There's a bus straight ahead. We have to stop this now!

  Nia Nal : [looking in the side mirror and getting an idea]  The wheels. Use your freeze breath on the back axle.

• Young Alex : I'm sorry, we're telling mom.

  Young Kara : Alex, wait, please. You can't tell Eliza. I can fix this. I swear.

  Young Alex : Fix this? In less than 24 hours, we have had two alien encounters, one of which was the impetus for a break-in at our mother's place of work, which, if we get found out, will likely be her ex-place of work. Oh, oh, and let's not forget about the reporter who is determined to expose the luckiest town in America as home of the newest alien superhero. So, tell me, Kara, how will you fix this?

  Young Kara : Well, who reads the newspaper anymore?

  Young Alex : [unamused]  This is too much for us to handle on our own. We need help and weapons. Lots of them.

  Young Kara : Alex, please!

  Young Alex : We need to tell mom. Maybe she can get ahold of someone at the DEO.

  Young Kara : Okay. Okay. You've been at college for two years, and-and now you have all the answers?

  Young Alex : No, I've seen what the real world is like. And it's not risking the truth of your identity to stop runaway trucks. It's about being responsible. It's about making sacrifices to ensure the best future for yourself and those you care about.

  Young Kara : You... you're saying you've had to sacrifice for me?

  Young Alex : We all have. Mom sacrificed her career for you. Dad sacrificed his life. You wanna know why I skipped out on going to Europe this year? The one thing I wanted, just for me, gone because mom was worried about you. And as always, here I am. Your powers... they don't give you carte blanche. Maybe if you had more life experience, you'd be able to see that.

  Young Kara : I've seen more solar systems than you have dates. So don't even.

  Young Alex : If you're so mature, then why haven't you told Kenny about college with him next year?

  [hurt, Kara turns to leave] 

  Young Alex : Where are you going?

  Young Kara : To show you how mature I really am.

• Nia Nal : Is it go time?

  Young Alex : [showing Eliza's ID badge]  You and I just need to be back before my mom heads out for work.

• Brainiac-5 : [talking privately after inadvertently bumping into the teenage Kara and Alex]  So, these are the exact people we are not supposed to be dealing with.

  Nia Nal : Yeah, um, but now we are dealing with them, so we have to figure out how to manage the situation.

  Brainiac-5 : Okay. So, the only management we need is to

  [raising his voice a little] 

  Brainiac-5 : get them out of here.

  Young Alex : We need to get out of here.

  Young Kara : What... what are you talking about? We have to help them.

  Young Alex : You just promised you'd stop drawing attention to yourself.

  Young Kara : If their ship is broken, the least we can do is help fix it.

  Young Alex : Even if it means endangering everyone around you?

  Kenny Li : To be fair, they don't seem hostile. I mean, look at how they're dressed.

• Young Alex : [reading an article in the local paper]  "With its small-town charm and nearly non-existent crime, Midvale is quickly becoming a top place to live in the country." Wow. Where was this town when I lived here full-time?

  Young Kara : Probably waiting for you to leave.

  Kenny Li : [snickering]  Ooh. Burn!

• Brainiac-5 : We need to conceal the evidence of our arrival, fix numerous parts, and lastly, locate a rare Earth element called dysprosium.

  Kenny Li : Dysprosium? That's one of those rare Earth elements that your mom is studying at work.

  Young Alex : There may be a dysprosium geode in the college's Rare Earth exhibit.

  Young Kara : She's saying she can get it, so...

  [hearing sirens approach with her superhuman hearing] 

  Young Kara : Wait.

  Kenny Li : Police?

  Young Kara : Heading this way, fast. You... you can't be found here.

  Brainiac-5 : We need to hide the ship.

  Kenny Li : Oh, uh... we could do "Groundhog Day".

  Young Alex : You have go-to plays?

• Kenny Li : Chocolate shake. Here you go.

  Young Kara : [having heard the Legion cruiser malfunctioning]  Uh, thanks, but I just realized we're late for study group.

  Kenny Li : Study group?

  [seeing her look and getting her point] 

  Kenny Li : Study group. Right. Right.

  Young Alex : You guys never do study...

  [realizing] 

  Young Alex : Wait. Are you sneaking out to save something?

  Young Kara : No.

  Kenny Li : [scoffing]  What?

  Young Alex : You promised me you'd stop super-ing when I left. Now you are fidgeting like you do when you lie.

  Young Kara : Right. Fine. We may have been helping the local authorities now and then, but no one knows that it's us.

  Young Alex : "Luckiest town in America"? Kara, you're the luck. At least until you get caught and you put mom and the rest of us in danger.

  Young Kara : We'll stop... after we check out whatever just crashed at the baseball field.

  Young Alex : No. No way.

  Young Kara : I can fly there without anybody seeing me. Trust me.
