When cast member Alana Heston was 10, she was a comedy improvisation student of writer/director Edna Harris, who at the time was 17 and was teaching a children's' class for the summer.
Many of the cast members were a part of a comedy improvisation troupe, that writer/director Edna Harris directed and performed with. They had performed together for nearly five years before taping the television special.
The writer/director Edna Harris first met Aileen Quinn (the host) when she was 14, and Harris was only nine. Harris' mother used to be Quinn's agent.
