Paramount Streaming, Showtime and cross-company publicity executive vice president Erin Calhoun is exiting the media giant at the end of the month after seven years with the company.
During her tenure, Calhoun oversaw communications teams across Paramount+, Pluto TV and Showtime, as well as campaigns for originals like “Fellow Travelers,” “The Curse,” “Frasier,” “Knuckles” and “Special Ops: Lioness.” She also helped elevate Showtime series such as “Shameless,” “Billions,” “Yellowjackets “and “Dexter: New Blood.”
Additionally, Calhoun led media relations for product and brand priorities, such as Pluto TV’s 10th anniversary — executing more than 250 industry events and spearheading nearly 100 awards nominations each year — and managed corporate communications efforts for this year’s Super Bowl.

One of Paramount Global’s top communications executives, Erin Calhoun, is stepping down from her role as EVP, Head of Communications, Paramount Streaming & Showtime and Cross-Company Publicity after seven years at the company. Her departure comes as Paramount is bracing for the next wave of layoffs, which I hear is expected next Tuesday, Sept. 24, with marketing and streaming/Paramount+ believed to be among the areas seriously impacted. There also will be further streamlining of the company’s communications operations, which Calhoun’s departure is a precursor to.
Paramount Global’s staff cuts, aiming to reduce its U.S.-based workforce by 15%, started in August, with 90% of the total layoffs to be completed by the end of September.
Calhoun, who was EVP Communications at Showtime Networks & Paramount Television Studios before being named to her current role in January 2023, announced her departure in a note to her team. (You can read it below.

Erin Calhoun, after seven years with Paramount Global where she led communications for Showtime and Paramount’s streaming division, is leaving the company at the end of September.
Calhoun’s departure comes amid broad cutbacks at Paramount, as the company looks to streamline roles across multiple departments. The company has announced it will lay off 15% of its U.S. workforce, eliminating about 2,000 jobs, ahead of its merger with Skydance Media.
Her exit was announced internally by Tom Ryan, president and CEO of Paramount Streaming, and Calhoun shared her own farewell note to staffers Thursday.
“During her tenure, Erin successfully built and led a world-class team that effectively showcased the momentum and milestones of our premium content and leading services,” Ryan wrote in his memo. He praised her leadership of “top-notch campaigns” for all of Paramount+ originals including “Fellow Travelers,” “The Curse,” “Frasier,” “Knuckles and “Special Ops: Lioness” as well as...

The roaring has begun yet again for Lioness, the Paramoint+ thriller from one of the current kings of television, Taylor Sheridan. Today, Paramount+ released the trailer for season 2 of Lioness, which will bit the streaming service on October 27th.
Lioness — which you may have also seen as Special Ops: Lioness – had a wildly successful debut season last year, proving to have Paramount+’s most-watched premiere at that time. With that — and the massive fanbase Sheridan has amassed — no doubt there is hype for season two. Heck, the follow-up season was confirmed before the first even premiered, just to give an idea of how much stake Paramount has in Sheridan.

If you’re missing The Night Agent, welcome to the club! Let’s cheer ourselves up by watching one (or all) of these seven shows like The Night Agent.
Okay, don’t hold your breath, but The Night Agent season 2 may be here by the end of 2024! As we reported earlier this month, Netflix may have quietly confirmed the release window for when season 2 of the action series The Night Agent will arrive. And, if true, it’s soon! On the official Instagram account for the series, a follower asked, “Is Season 2 approaching really really fast or is it just approaching…?” Yes, fellow fan! You’re asking the real questions here!
To our surprise, the account responded and shared that November is “the anticipated release.” So you’re telling me new episodes will be here by Thanksgiving? What a gift! But not so fast. The response from the account no longer appears.

Welcome to the world of oil. Those are the ominous words that end the first trailer for “Landman,” Taylor Sheridan’s new drama series starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore. The show will premiere its first two episodes on Paramount+ Nov. 17.
“The oil and gas industry makes $3 billion a day in pure profit. And it’s only getting bigger,” Thornton’s Tommy Norris says in the opening of the trailer. He then outlines that to make that money, you need to do two things: secure the land and manage the people.
“First part’s pretty simple. It’s the second part that can get you killed,” Tommy says.
After he drops that bomb, disaster strikes. Dynamic shots of men in suits boarding private planes and Tommy in his cowboy hat are replaced by a scene of workers on an oil rig. The trailer then cuts to blast as the sound drops out.

The newly renamed Lioness has just announced when Lioness season 2 is coming to Paramount+. The spy thriller returns Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 with the first two episodes dropping that day and then new ones each Sunday after that. There’s no trailer yet but with the high-powered cast and a new title, Lioness is ready to roar back on screens soon.
Taylor Sheridan has been a busy guy on TV thanks to Yellowstone and its spinoffs. He’s been branching out into other genres that keep to his trend for dramatic storylines revolving around strong characters. Among them was Special Ops: Lioness, which debuted on Paramount+ in 2023.
The show was a success and renewed for a second season, which now simplifies the title to simply Lioness. So what do we know so far other than the release date? There's the synopsis and some photos!
Genesis Rodriguez as Josie Carillo in Lioness, episode 2, season 2, streaming on Paramount+, 2024.

The first time you watch Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) brawl Yuriko Oyama aka Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) in 2003's "X2: X-Men United," you may find yourself echoing what Logan says at the outset of their showdown: "Holy s**t." More than 20 years later, the fight between these two super-healing individuals with adamantium-laced skeletons still ranks up there as one of the most savage mutant versus mutant scuffles in all of 20th Century Fox's "X-Men" movies. Despite being restricted by the film's PG-13 rating, this sequence manages to packs in plenty of wince-inducing moments, culminating with Lady Deathstrike's horrifying fate of death by liquified adamantium injection. That she'd spent the whole movie being forced to serve the detestable William Stryker (Brian Cox), who uses a mind control serum to rob her of her agency, only adds to the greater tragedy of the character.

Nicole Kidman played the role of a damsel in distress in Joel Schumacher’s first of the two least-favorite Batman movies, Batman Forever. Before Kidman was chosen, the producers wanted Rene Russo to star opposite her One Good Cop co-star Michael Keaton. However, Keaton dropped out of the project and Val Kilmer replaced him, making Russo too old to be paired with Kilmer.

Kidman’s role didn’t make much impact and the film didn’t receive good reviews. Nevertheless, the Eyes Wide Shut actress had her own reasons for accepting a DC role. She revealed that it was more about her trying out different roles than about the hefty paychecks for such movies.

With the future of the original series Yellowstone up in the air because of Kevin Costner’s departure, The Madison will be able to keep the Yellowstone universe going even without John Dutton, sadly.
It would have been cool to see Kevin Costner pop up in The Madison, but it’s not to be. But anything is possible in Hollywood these days, so you never know.
But The Madison will be anything but lacking in star power. Here’s what we know so far!
