I really want to love this
susanlutesknight-8678523 November 2020
But Aarti Sequeira is ruining it for me. She is so critical because she doesn't seem to understand the contestants ideas. Since she doesn't see the story in her head she undermines the teams confidence. Nacho and Kristin do try to encourage and give constructive advice. There are bugs to be worked out in the first year. Here's hoping it does reach its zenith!

Aarti is horrible
bradleybes19 March 2021
This show has a unique premise and the host and set are perfect for Candyland make it fun to watch. But having Aarti as a judge is like having Mrs Trunchbull from Matilda on there. She hates everything as has a hateful attitude towards the contestants. Get rid of her and let the show be fun.

Love show but needs...
guccia-725457 December 2020
I like the show but the head judge Aarti Sequeira is turning me off. I having been watching this show after I DVR it because I like to fast forward when she talks. She is very judgemental and never really sees these contestants ideas. It seems its her way or no way. If she doesn't like something she is rude about it and is always knocking the contestants down. Kristen as host is adorable, cute and perfect to host. I would suggest getting a 3rd judge for the second season or get rid of Sequeira or make someone else the head judge. Could be a great show, the set is amazing and who doesnt love Candyland. Sequeira needs to go to black licorice island.

Negativity brings it down
HiddenKamo28 November 2020
As others have said, the judges do detract from the show quite a bit. The negativity from the judges, especially Aarti, made me cringe throughout. Miss Sequeira has a bit of an ego that seems mismatched for the magical, fairytale setting of Candyland

Different enough that it could have been good.

It would have been better to me if they kept all the teams, not kick teams off each week, and made it more like the board game. It would have been neat to have the teams moving game pieces depending on how the did on the treat heat and main heat as a race to the end.

The judges really take away from the show too! They never say anything positive. They aren't open minded. They act like everyone should cater to them. If they don't think like they do than they're wrong. Instead of judging how they did they want everything their way! The judges have brought the show down to a lower level.

Could be great

The judges ruin this show. Concept and host do wonders. The judges are a mess and super negative. Just a mess. Recast and try again.

Great set design but poor concept
The_nibs24 November 2020
This literally feels like another cake wars type show, which Food Network already has an abundance of, they just slapped a Candy Land skin on it to make it more appealing. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, it's teams competing to create food based works of art (usually with a food sampler along the way to demonstrate that they actually can bake). It gets dull fast. High end cake decorating hit it's peak over ten years ago, and perhaps some people are still taken aback by edible (but actually largely inedible) art cakes, it does nothing for me, I'd much rather see people cook or make real food. Also whatever deal they made with Hasbro for the Candy Land license has them awkwardly talking about their Candy Land memories (much of which feels forced/artificial and made up on the spot). Many of the contestants have been taken from other Food Network shows, that's not uncommon, but I wish they would recruit fresh talent. I especially wish they'd stop allowing Reva on, she's such a nasty person, she's always screaming at her teammates no matter what show she's on. She's terribly egotistical, and her talents do not match her ego. I once saw her on a gingerbread show where she totally sabotaged her team leader. Nobody likes this woman, children should not be subjected to her rude and selfish antics! Give her the boot.

Worst cooking show ever
ssimms-0995027 December 2023
This is the worst cooking show to be aired, and there have been some bad ones. You have a 50+ year old trying to be 21. All she has accomplished is a sleazy trasy look. I know the cooking channel should be able to come up with something better than this. Get a replacement show worth watching.please. There are so many talented chefs out there that would live to have a show and we would love to watch. A lot of us let our children and grandkids watch these shows. Id never let my child watch this x rated show. How disappointed your viewers are in you. And how can this person look in the mirror every day after exploiting herself like that Sad what we are allowing on tv these days. It's no wonder people no longer want to watch your sh.

So much potential but yuk this sucks
werner-1411824 December 2020
Love the host, but her talent is totally wasted here. The set is quite amazing.

The judges are the real problem. They totally turn a fun concept into a miserable viewing experience. They can barely utter a positive statement, walk around with their noses up in the air, and seem to have a predetermined notion of who will win.

Not sure how the teams were put together, but seems like an interesting bunch that could make the show fun.

Same old faces on a tired old format.
thedivinewoman23 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was intrigued by this show until they had the contestants come in. They have nearly all been on other baking shows over the years. In a country as big as the USA couldn't they find anyone new to be on this show? I didn't bother watching this show after I saw all the same old faces.

Okay. I loved the premise cuz who hasn't dreamed about Candyland being real?? But wow. I made it about 20 minutes into the first episode and that was it because I HATE the judges!! Especially the chick. The judges should not be allowed to wander around and influence the contestants, or tell them what they should be making. Ridiculous. No wonder this show didnt get a 2nd season.

Great show but the judges suck.
kalli_ford2 June 2021
Creative idea more of a decorative show than an actual baking or cooking show but that's ok. And the hostess is awesome! Only complaint is the judges!

Try again
abemanzano31 December 2021
I believe this show is a direct copy of the amazing Disney + show Foodtastic. The set is good and the show is animated. But Definetly needs a judge change.

Such a fun show!
melissacruz-9038427 December 2020
This was such a fun show to watch during Christmas time. The Candy Land world was super immersive and I think helped the contestants be even more creative. Kristin Chenoweth was the perfect host and the judges seemed to genuinely enjoy the competition.
