So glad it's back.

I had high expectations after a terrific first series, and this first episode doesn't disappoint.

This show seems like a big deal for Netflix, and I'm glad they have decided to continue with it, and develop it.

They opted for one of the best talents around, Sophie Okonedo, and she doesn't disappoint, she's terrific throughout, what a versatile actress she is.

A great game of cat and mouse, very well produced, looks like we're in for another great series. 8/10.

Sophie Okonedo, awesome actress!

Warning: Spoilers
Just saw this episode. Started watching this series right after watching Ratched. So you can imagine I kept waiting for Sophie Okonedo to switch personalities and yell "I am first chair violin of the New York symphony orchestra!" or "YOU are Hitler!!" 🤣 No but seriously, she's a great actress! She can pull that real serial killer look on her face!

Refreshing!

A good start of the season! Seeing detective constable Warren taking on the big role was a pleasant surprise. This episode is made different than all the previous episodes from the last season in the sense that they are not really investigating but just interviewing that turns into an investigation when the interviewee unintentionally confesses a crime that no one thought she'd committed.

Loved it and hoping that it just gets better in the following episodes.

An astonishing performance by Sophie Okonedo. Story isn't the best, but their performances are fab.

Like all the others in this series ( including the Spanish, French and German versions, each of which tells a different story) this is a real stand-out series for me. I can't get enough of it !! Super plot, direction, acting and everything else.

Unmissable imo

Got me hooked

Warning: Spoilers
By somewhat of an accident, this was the first episode of Criminal: UK I've watched. And it got me hooked right away. The performance of the two leading ladies in this one (their voice-leading, first and foremost), the concept recalling classical chamber plays, the cinematography ... and then the crumbling of Julia, how the strain and her nervousness got the better of her until you detect the mere evil in her gaze. So simple and complex at the same time, so elegant, so good. 9/10 without a doubt.

Fantastic Episode

A really high quality episode that builds on the elements of the previous season, continuing the excellent directing, score, and performances while adding an increased focus on the main characters. This was a great episode for the character of Vanessa, specifically, as this episode paints a more complete image of her as a person than any of last season's did.

What an episode!

I think this is my favourite episode. People who are commenting why did her lawyer let her confess need to understand how Vanessa cornered Julia without even letting her speak. Even though it was Vanessa talking, it was Julia who confessed and the lawyer can't stop from the officer talking. Loved the eerie music and background score. How Vanessa came back more confident and committed because she had figured out that the whole MO was just amazing.

The best episode of Criminal UK
brunomatarazzo23 October 2020
Oh I really love this show. I'm amazed that how the director created such an intense and dramatic film only with people talking. This may have happened because the script, the music, the photography are fantastic. Not to mention the performances, specially the one of Sophie Okonedo. She's great.

Good episode (not the best of the series), but Sophie Okonedo saves the day. She makes an amazing, superb performance.

Unique

I watched the premier series some time ago. It is quite a take on criminal investigation. A woman is brought into the interrogation room and asked several questions. It seems a couple of young men have died and another has been implicated. Initially, she is there as a witness, to shed light on the events. But there are two things that seem to be in issue. The consistency of her testimony and anything that seems beyond her experience. One could assume there will be heavy-handed attacks on her, but like the first series, there is a sort of dance, a delicacy to the questioning. The event is being watched by the colleagues of the questioner. They wait for little facts and take notes. This was really well done. The woman being questioned showed what an actress can do with soft responses and facial expressions.
