Oh Ye Ji starts her first day at the Seo Hwan's school and meets Hwan for the first time. She notices his talent in art, and Hwan notices her beautiful eyes.
Hwan takes Ye Ji to his father's pottery workshop to help her find a kiln for her project. When she meets his father, she is stunned and thrilled it's Seo Seong Gon, a famous pottery artisan.
Ye Ji gets a room next door to Hwan's place, and Hwan delightfully helps her get settled in. Overhearing that she'll be heading to Seoul for the weekend, Jin waits for her and offers her a ride.
Ye Ji's wretched aunt comes to Hwan's school and makes a scene, threatening Ye Ji with her past to quit. Hwan lends her his shoulder, and for the first time, Ye Ji feels protected.
Hwan waits for Ye Ji by the creek while she enjoys the moonlight by the beach with Jin. When a few of the boys show up and ridicule him with a revealing picture of Ye Ji, Hwan severely beats up one of the boys.
Hwan tells Jin that he likes Ye Ji, but Jin tells Hwan to forget about her and that he's too young to know anything. They almost get into a fight. Meanwhile, Ye Ji packs her bags and leaves her aunt in Seoul.
Jin shows up in front of Ye Ji's aunt with an envelope of money and tells her to stay out of their relationship. Yeon Ja goes to Seong Gon and describes her encounter with Ye Ji's aunt and warns him to keep Ye Ji away from the boys.
Seong Gon hands Yeon Ja divorce papers and asks her to respect Jin's decision, but Yeon Ja tears it apart. Hwan tells Jin to never run away from Ye Ji, and later, Hwan takes Ye Ji to a place where Jin and Seong Gon are waiting.
Hwan goes to university in the States while Jin tries to work at his mother's company. However, Jin only has racing on his mind. With a project not progressing in the right direction, he hands in his resignation.
Ye Ji tells Jin to do what he loves, and Jin follows his heart. Yeon Ja, who strongly opposes, demands Ye Ji to change his mind. However, Jin takes his opportunity and flies to the U.S. to race.
