Fun and engaging...
toddsgraham10 December 2020
Wow. This was an entertaining Christmas movie. I'm impressed. In this sequel, the lively Liddle family comes together at a mountain resort for the 'perfect' wedding on Christmas. Those of you familiar with the first film will know that things don't go as planned. The writer and director do a great job of moving in and out of the various sub-plots in the film. Indeed, the movie flows quite nicely from scene to scene, from storyline to storyline. The movie has a number of warm and decent messages about family, which add to the Christmas atmosphere it tries to instil. The family dynamics and dialogue are great, which is one of the strengths of the film. All this works, of course, because the acting, overall, is excellent. Kelly Rowland (playing Jacquie Liddle) had a very strong performance. For example, her scenes with Nakai Takawira (playing Coco, the daughter) were warm and heartfelt. The sister trio (her and her two sisters played by Latonya Williams and Bresha Webb) was also great on screen. Their dialogue and exchanges were fun to watch (and quite convincing); they even had a bit of a 'Santa Baby' song and dance. The chemistry between the three main couples on-screen worked nicely, I thought (including Jacquie's parents). The movie had a lot of Christmas spirit and cheer as well. There was a very cute scene where the children create a runway for Santa on the roof. The family scenes, for example, on Christmas day were warm and festive. All in all, this is a fun and engaging Christmas movie, arguably better than the first (at least, I thought it was). It is a nice new edition to the Lifetime 2020 lineup this season.

Kelly Rowland Shines

Kelly Rowland's performance in this movie is its saving grace. The story is cute, but the other acting and situations characters find themselves in throughout are cheesy. Although, I guess it's what's expected from a Lifetime Christmas movie. Overall, it's an okay holiday one-time watch.

Cute story, subpar supporting characters
courtneywrites26 December 2020
This film has a cute storyline and there are some heartwarming moments throughout... I couldn't rate it higher because, outside of the main characters storyline, the other characters seem to lack any kind of significance to the story (except Kiara - Jacquie's sister). There are also some points in the movie where the continuity is lost and characters discussions don't seem to flow at all. It had the potential to be great, but those few details made a big difference in the end for me. Most likely I'll never watch it again.

Worthwhile Christmas wedding
TheLittleSongbird26 October 2021
Very like its predecessor, 'A Merry Liddle Christmas', 'Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding' does not have the most inspired of film titles and is pretty corny to be honest. Did see it anyway though, due to liking 'A Merry Liddle Christmas' enough, that it was part of my quest to see as many Lifetime Christmas films as possible and because Kelly Rowland to me is a performer of solid talent as well as an engaging personality and really knowing her stuff when it comes to performing and mentoring.

Compared to 'A Merry Liddle Christmas', 'Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding' is perhaps about the same or maybe a little bit better. Was very worried about it falling victim to sequel-titis, where it would feel unnecessary, have little to set it apart or be a disgrace to it. While it is not the most original film on the block (lack of originality is a given when it comes to Lifetime films), 'Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding' is a long way from a disgrace as a sequel and is acceptable on its own. Strengths and flaws are similar to before.

'Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding' had room to be better than it was. Maybe it could have been better if it had a few less characters and developed the main ones a little more and had a little less going on in the story. Like the first film, it is a little slow to begin with and some of the dialogue early on is cheesy and could have flowed more naturally.

Thomas Cadrot's performance has not improved that much. His character is underwritten and he doesn't always look comfortable, again he could have emoted his lines with more feeling. There is a little more chemistry between him and the rest of the characters though.

However, a lot is good with the biggest saving grace being Rowland, who is delightful and has her usual charm and sass. Her scenes with adorable Nakai Takawira agreed had a lot of heart without being too sentimental. Did enjoy the enthusiastic, though occasionally overdone, performances of Latonya Williams and Bresha Webb. Did generally like the chemistry between the actors, it could have had more subtlety in parts but most of the time it was witty and warm.

Furthermore, the direction is fully competent once the story finds its footing. Visually, it looks good in particularly the scenery which is nicely complemented by the photography. The music is pleasant and not intrusive, not always the case with Lifetime (even more Hallmark) films. The script is far from perfect, but is sweet and raised a number of smiles while not being too heavy on the sentiment. The story isn't perfect to begin with, but is mostly very charming and warm-hearted with an authentic atmosphere. While the characters are familiar in type, my way of trying and failing to avoid the word cliched, they to me had personality and ones that didn't come over as stale or annoying.

Not a great film by all means but overall it was better than anticipated and a pleasant diversion. 6/10.

charming

At the first view, you know everything from the first part. The family, the connection between characters, the good and reasonable parts, the inspired art of Kelly Rowland to use precise nuances of her character. And the wedding is just version of the Christmas from previous part. But all the details, from music to atmosphere, are fair used, the recipe is respected and the small surprises - nice. The humor and cliches, the spirit of family, the surprise of end are more than reasonable. So, charming.

Justifiable sistercide?
Jackbv12329 November 2021
Family. You can't live with them and you can't live without them. And sometimes you want to get rid of them. There are a lot of family members and sometimes it's a little chaotic.

This is a nice movie about Jacque's family, mostly her sister Kiara, totally messing up her wedding, repeatedly. I'm not usually a fan of this kind of humor, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie.

There is a song and dance routine that somehow is simultaneously racy and cute to the song Santa Baby.

The outcome is perfect and a little bit crazy.

Half way decent movie

Warning: Spoilers
Movie would have been awesome except for the fact that the one sister did everything to be selfish and steal her sisters wedding and there was so much passive aggressive anger about it. I was so irritated by her behavior I could not watch and enjoy the remainder of the movie. No family just takes what she did and dismisses it.

A refreshing Take
spikeluvr2 December 2020
This movie has all the typical elements of a TV Christmas movie but with a few differences. Although many of the situations and problems are over the top, the acting is spot on and there's real chemistry between all the actors. I really enjoyed how they interacted with each other and made their characters' relationships believable. . Very little sugary sweet dialogue like you get on Hallmark. I normally fast forward through a lot of the Christmas movies produced these days but I never once hit the fast forward button this time.

Beautiful Christmas Love Story!

I absolutely fell in love with this movie. I was so happy to see the continuation of this story and with an all Black cast. I especially loved Julian and Treena trying to get their "alone time" 😂! So funny. I can't wait until the next one!
