does what it wants to do

This is a road trip journey merged wtih a man against nature sub-plot as a group of three amateur Iranian musicians try to get to a musical event in the capital city of Iran but are blocked everywhere in roads by a vast flood overtaking the southern parts of the country. I've heard producers say that the flood wasn't included in the final draft but the filming schedule and re-evaluating the situation shaped the film's narrative to its final form.

The film is a bit short, being only 75 minutes in runtime, the acting is solid and convincing for the most part, the music and the songs the trio play in their ill-fated journey is somewhat hit or miss, some of the songs are really great while others are mediocre to a degree, and the ending is, though predictable, but effective nontheless. Overall I would say it's a really simple film, it does what it wants to do, no more no less.
