• Young Babar : [to the Phantom after he scared the Mayor and construction worker away]  I'm sorry I tried to help. No one will bother you again. No one.

  [pauses] 

  Young Babar : Goodbye.

  [walks out of the music hall and closes the doors] 

• The Phantom : So, you've returned! You're either very brave or very foolish!

  Young Babar : I just wanted to find out if you were really real!

  The Phantom : I'll show you! I am very real, and very opposed to intruders!

  Young Babar : Hey! Wait a minute! If you gonna scare me to death, just do it so that I could see you!

  [the Phantom appears behind Babar and removes his domino mask and pulls back his hood, revealing himself to be an old man] 

  Young Babar : Why, you're an ordinary man.

  The Phantom : Disappointed?

  Young Babar : No. Everyone thinks you're some kind of monster.
