I enjoyed this journey in Malta: beautiful lanscapes and nice encounters:
There are many interesting aspects of Malta: the British influence (the typical phone booths, the waterpolo, the left-hand traffic, Mary Spiteri singing in English, the English language as second language of the country, the English lessons and the Queen Victoria Club), Mdina with its nice buildings (the Palazzo Falson, Olof Gollcher , Mary Grace Lynch , the wedding planner, the weddings at the Villa Bologna), the salt production (Josephine Xuereb), the stone quarries (the Globigefrina limestone, the stone quarry of Randu Zammit, the buildings made with these stones), the calcareous cliffs (Dietmar Treptow), the film locations in Malta (the Game of Thrones, the Popeye village at Anchor Bay, Angélique Muller and Daniel Graham preparing a film), Gozo (the ecologic renewal (Carmen recovering the waters of the rains, her solar panels, Nina Jaschska and her organic farming for her kitchen,Zeppi Takurun, the traditional cheese-maker) and the celebration of the 8th September, day of the Victory (the regatta of the "luzzus", Romario Bignone, the rower of Bormia, the processio of the statue of the Virgin Mary in Nachar).
I enjoyed the encounters of Jérôme with Lisa Pace (the Upper Barraka Gardens , the fire gun signals, the Saint John cathedral the celebration at Saint Julian's-brass bands and fireworks-), with Nicholas de Piro (Casa Rocca Piccola), with Petra Wilshire (the Blue Lagoon in Comino Island, the bike tour ,the salt marsh, the terraced hillsides, the Wied il Mielah Arch and the diving with Mark Busuttil at the Blue Hole), with Jimmy Xiberras , the shipwright and repairman of the Maltese "Luzzus". With Jospeh Rapa (the bakery and pastry shop), with David Arrigo (the old cars, the tour in the Allard), with Philip Tonna the oenonologist (the old and the young vineyard, the tasting of wine), with Emma Mattei and Pippa Mattei in Marsaxlokk (the fish market, the Sunday Lunch , the fish soup; very nice encounters with very king Maltese men and women.
