The film LIEVE is about dealing with loss. We experience the world through the eyes of the seven-year-old girl Lieve, who together with her father, mother and fifteen-year-old brother live in a house near the forest. She is a quiet girl, who is conscious of her surroundings and understands more than some adults think. Lieve often sets off by herself and sometimes finds wonderful things in the bushes like a beautiful necklace and old aviator goggles. By every once and a while putting the goggles on she can escape the horrific reality of death and war by perceiving it in a rosier fantastical manner.
