- TriviaThe droid known as AZ-34521 is the same droid that helped Echo's good friend Fives uncover a conspiracy about the clone inhibitor chips in season 6 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) series.
- GoofsThe newsreel features several scenes from Revenge of the Sith in animated form. When Obi-Wan Kenobi killing a headless IG-100 MagnaGuard, one of the OOM pilot battle droids in the background has a comlink booster pack, which they did not have in the film, and the Battle of Coruscant itself is not visible through the viewports as it is in the film.
- Quotes
[Crosshair appears in Imperial armor with an Imperial patrol]
Wrecker: Is that Crosshair?
[Hunter steps out to meet him]
Crosshair: Best stand down, Sergeant. Make it easier on yourself.
Hunter: Have you lost your mind?
Crosshair: You should have killed that Jedi. You disobeyed orders!
Hunter: I did what I thought was right!
Crosshair: You never could see the bigger picture. Now surrender!
Hunter: Is that an order?
Crosshair: Heh. I guess it is.
Hunter: Well, I guess I'm disobeying that one too.

Off the bat, the show took my expectations and completely annihilated them. I didn't know that I would be in for an emotional ride from the first scene, but they start out in big fashion, with a great character appearance that I definitely didn't expect but enjoyed very much. They've definitely taken certainly liberties with the canon that's been established so far, but when it's done to effect results like this, I don't really mind it. After that, we get a great insight into the Empire's thinking when it came to discontinuing the production of the clone troopers, and Filoni continues to evolve on the politics that George Lucas developed in his films. The action is energetic and visually stunning. I'm glad they decided to go with the animation style they used for the seventh season of "Clone Wars," because it's truly the most fluent it's ever been and give birth to some of the most exciting action sequences. It's a classic action narrative and very much in vain of the other shows Filoni has been involved with, in its great storytelling. It's still early on, so I can't say that I'm all that into the storyline as it has yet to be fully set up, but as a start to a show, this episode gave me everything that I could have ever wanted. These guys are so awesome, and the fact that I get to follow along on their adventures for the next many months, is very exciting. "Star Wars" is back in style!
"Aftermath" was a great start to the show, and it set the seeds for things to come. A lot of tension will surely come to an explosive climax at some point in the show, and I'm fully invested in following along on this adventure and don't doubt that it will lead to many great places.
