In the beginning, the soccer ball in the background has a unique bounce to it. This is because this opening clip was originally intended to be the end of the film, and the camera craned up INTO the tree. After a screening of the rough cut, it was decided to bookend the film with the park scene, and this clip was the reversed to bring us OUT of the tree down to the elderly couple, giving the ball the unique bounce, because the action was also reversed.
The elderly couple were found only two days before filming. Unable to located the right casting for this role, Director/Producer drove to an Assisted Living facility and began interviewing elderly couples, looking for the right fit.
The barn scene was a last minute replacement, due to the original location (underground bunker) falling through only 3 days before shooting. Director/Producer, Norm Sanders, drove out into the country looking for unique barns to be able to film in, convinced an alternate set/location would lend just as well to the film.
