Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaWimsey mentions that Bunter has prepared twaite meunière for his luncheon rather than the more traditional kippers. Meunière is a French culinary term which refers to both a sauce and a method of preparation, primarily for fish. The word itself means "miller's wife". Thus to cook something à la meunière was to cook it by first dredging it in flour. A meunière sauce is a simple preparation-brown butter, chopped parsley, and lemon, and the name refers to its unelaborate rustic nature. The fish is likely trout ("truite" in French, but is misspelled as "twaite" in the subtitles.)
- GoofsAt the beginning of Wimsey's conversation in Part 3 with Mrs Farren the fire is roaring in the fireplace. Halfway through it is out.

Very enjoyable once again.
Wimsey continues the hunt for Campbell's killer, a young witness comes forward and explain how she witnessed Campbell fighting with an unknown figure on the night of his death, a search of the scene leads to a very bizarre, but revealing discovery.
Another very revealing installment, which gives us us an insight into the killer's identity, and ticks one or two off the potential list of suspects.
An interesting biblical reference to David and Jonathan, an indicator to the killer's identity.
Irene Sunters is great as the amusing and slightly predatory Mrs Smith lemesurer.
Fine, 8/10.
