The One with the Cast of 'Night Court' (#3.3)
ComedyFan201026 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The roommate from Liz and Jenna is in town to party with them and hooks up with Jack, Liz has to save him from her craziness. And Tracy arranges a Night Court reunion for the big fan Kenneth.

I loved the few Friends references. The title and as well when it is said that it is America's long awaited reunion of friends....from Night Court.

Great to see Jennifer Aniston. She is absolutely stunning and the character she plays is pretty outrageous, I love how it ends between her and Jack.

I never watched Night Court, but their reunion was a fun part even for someone like me, fans of the show would appreciate it even more, like Kenneth did.

The One with the Cast of "Night Court" was a good, if not great, episode of "30 Rock"

Warning: Spoilers
"This is the reunion of friends...from 'Night Court'". So says Kenneth as the three former cast members-Harry Anderson, Markie Post, and Charlie Robinson (with no-show John Larroquette unable to adjust his schedule)-stage the finale wedding between Harry and Christine that never came (perhaps because Jenna's werewolf lawyer character caused the show to "Jump the Shark"). Elsewhere, that "Friend" that's on this ep is Jennifer Anniston who's Liz and Jenna's old "Fatal Attraction" roommate who has designs on Jack. Not as funny as the last two episodes especially since the Anniston plot seemed a little overdone but still enjoyable nonetheless and I did like it when Claire (Jen's character) suggested a threesome and Jack had to consult Liz before refusing it. Seeing Ms. Post complaining about not getting Emmy nominations because of her hotness was perhaps the best thing about this episode along with Tracy mentioning to Kenneth about how there would be an audience laughing when the cast from the former 8:30 pm CST on Thursday show (which "30 Rock" now inhabits) leaves in a huff as they wait for the reaction in silence. Hope the next with Steve Martin is better...

A Good Episode!
g-bodyl17 November 2014
This is the third episode of the third season of 30 Rock and it's a rather enjoyable episode, even if it does fail to reach the levels of the first two episodes. I'm skeptical about one of subplots and really didn't buy it. However, Jennifer Aniston makes an excellent appearance as an old friend of Liz and my oh my, did she put on a show!

In this episode, "The One with the Cast of Night Court," Liz's old friend comes to town and despite her warnings, Jack begins a fling with her with creates some issues. Meanwhile, Tracy decides to help Kenneth out by reuniting some members of the Night Court to help solve the issue of a bad uniform.

Overall, this is a watchable, rather entertaining episode. I loved the part where Aniston makes an appearance and makes a fool out of Jack. I had a hard time buying the subplot involving the Night Court, but it was still interesting to watch. I rate this episode 8/10.

Go, Aniston!

For the third episode in a row, Season 3 of 30 Rock makes great use of celebrity guest stars, harking back at past comedy glories (rigorously NBC, of course) and delivering inane zingers at a steady pace.

The main plot concerns Liz and Jenna receiving a visit from their old Chicago roommate, Claire Harper (Jennifer Aniston). Despite repeated warnings, Jack starts a relationship with her, only to realize her behavior is borderline psychotic. The rest of the episode consists of a loving tribute to late '80s sitcom Night Court: Kenneth watched the show religiously, and in order to make him feel better over a job problem, Tracy decides to bring the old cast members back together to stage the proper finale the series never received.

Unafraid to go over the top, the episode is an ode to pure silliness. Even the Night Court reunion, reverential as it may seem (and the three actors playing themselves are truly enjoying the opportunity), takes a detour towards crazy land when it turns out the show jumped the shark because of a guest appearance by Jenna (see it to believe it). As usual, though, most of the laughs come from Baldwin, who steals every single scene he shares with the feisty Aniston, continuing the tradition of cute Friends references (see also the episode title) paired with that typical 30 Rock twist (although David Schwimmer's Greenzo remains hard to match). A comedy masterclass, with some of the best influences in the history of American television.

Guest starring Jennifer Aniston, some of the cast of Night Court, and Ako

Warning: Spoilers
Being a fan of Night Court and Friends (well the first four seasons at least) I loved this episode of 30 Rock! Markie Post is still hot for sure, and all credit to 30 Rock for her back along with Harry Anderson and Charles Robinson. Jennifer Aniston as a Fatal Attraction type character was hilarious. Mako guest stars as Mi Au.
