Jacqueline Fernandez who is next to be seen in Brothers opposite Akshay Kumar has definitely come a long way. She just completed shooting for Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham and has three upcoming films in the near future. But just a while back, she thought her career in Bollywood had come to an end. The actress made her debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s Aladin in 2009 after which she barely had any film offers. It was only when she was offered Kick opposite Salman Khan that her career was re-launched and film offers started pouring in for the actress.
Speaking about her equation with Salman, the actress said, “I feel it’s more than I could have ever imagined. For me, he definitely goes beyond being just a co-star. I think it’s a friendship that I will value for a long time, because I feel indebted to him.

“As far as plausibility goes, I can find more loopholes in Kahaani now than anybody else. No script is fool-proof. But you must make certain allowances in your first viewing of a film. When you enjoy something a lot, you think, ‘Why did I enjoy it so much?’ You start to find faults in it which is absolutely fair. But then what was your instinctive reaction? You enjoyed it.”
Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani, now in its second week, has already been declared a hit. The film has earned more than twice its budget at the box office. Kahaani is the fourth film by Ghosh who made an assuring debut with Jhankaar Beats in 2003. The box office success of Kahaani has shown that a film without a hero and a heavily pregnant heroine in long gowns can change the rules of the game. Sujoy Ghosh talks to Nandita Dutta about his...

The super-success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ has helped create tremendous curiosity around Vidya Balan’s ‘Kahaani’ co-written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. After tasting success with his very first film Jhankar Beats, Ghosh’s next two films – Home Delivery and Aladin – failed miserably at the box-office. While most directors would have tried to play safe, Sujoy’s fourth outing is easily his most challenging film.Read More...

Sujoy Ghosh is a filmmaker with his own vision and with each new film he brings something unique to the audience. Whether it is the story of love, friendship and music of Jhankaar Beats, the sweet and endearing tale and characters of Home Delivery, again with fab music, or the fantasy fairy tale with the gorgeous look in Aladin, each film is something that we have not seen before in Indian cinema. For his newest film, Kahaani, he has once again taken a risk and gone in a completely different direction by taking us through the streets of Kolkata in a fast paced thriller. Starring Vidya Balan, the story follows Vidya Bagchi who arrives in Kolkata from London to find her missing husband. Seven months pregnant and alone in a festive city, she begins a relentless search for her husband. With nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him,...

Kahaani is all set to release and director Sujoy Ghosh is especially excited to see the kind of response his film fetchs. Mumbai, Dec 31: Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez was ready to pack her bags and quit Bollywood in 2011. But a slew of projects, and brighter prospects in the industry, have enticed her to stay.
'(The year) 2011 came really unexpected... because I was almost ready to leave the industry and then 2011 just caught me by surprise and things just started getting better,' Jacqueline said on the sidelines of a performance rehearsal.
The former beauty queen made her Bollywood debut with 'Aladin' in 2009, and went on to feature in 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' -- both of which turned out to be duds. She also featured.

The smouldering red-hot promos of Jacqueline Fernandez heating up the seaside splendour of Goa in Murder 2 raises fond memories of Mallika Sherawat's sizzling re-launch in Murder five years ago. And the sizzle-quotient has not escaped the Bhatts' notice. Having earlier successfully re-launched Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat in all their oomphy-glory in Jism and Murder, respectively, it's time for the Bhatts to give Jacqueline's career that box office boost that would hopefully make her the new pinup sensation. And the Sri Lankan beauty who had earlier done two films (Aladin, Jaane Kahan Se Aaye Hai) that almost branded her a fairytale actress, is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that Murder 2 does her what Murder did for Mallika. Jacqueline has recently said no to a film opposite Arjun Rampal begging off with the age-old excuses of no dates. But Tigmanshu Dhulia's Jai Ramji was not...
