When asked what he did between acting jobs, Robert Duvall once said, "Hobbies, hobbies and more hobbies." This is fair enough because, to quote James Bond, "everybody needs a hobby." Bond himself has all kinds of things to do in his spare time: playing Baccarat and Poker, talking to exotic ladies and drinking Martinis. For all we know, Bond might also be into origami and bell ringing.
The question is, what do other action heroes get up to when they're not shooting bad guys, blowing up trucks or rescuing their daughters from Val Verde? In most movies, we never find out. But in very,...

Washington, Oct 17: Steven Seagal has been sworn in as the deputy sheriff of a Texas border town.
The 59-year-old actor, who was appointed this week to go out on patrol in Hudspeth, which runs along the Rio Grande east of El Paso, will be on the lookout for people trying to slip across the border from Mexico.
The 'Driven To Kill' star, who is currently starring in a reality show about his time as a New Orleans reserve deputy, contacted County Sheriff Arvin West about his interest in "patrolling the border".
"Mr Seagal is not in this for the celebrity or publicity," the Daily Mail quoted West as saying.
"He has a sincere passion for his country and he wants to do more to help. I think he will make a significant.

He is the Governator no longer. But Arnie – terminate all thoughts of making serious films right now
He said he'd be back, and now he is. Stint as governor of California completed, Arnold Schwarzenegger has two paths open to him – one leading to the White House and one leading back to Hollywood. But until the American constitution allows foreign-born citizens to become president – and until American voters suddenly grow fond of men who've run entire states to the brink of irreversible bankruptcy – then Hollywood it is.
There's just one small problem, though. Is Arnold Schwarzenegger planning to make the films that Arnold Schwarzenegger should be making?
The answer, it seems, is no. In an interview with Austrian newspaper the Krone this week, Schwarzenegger claimed that he's currently giving consideration to three scripts, one of which would appear to be Wings of Eagles, a story about a benevolent, child-saving Nazi general.

Steven Seagal has become best known for his roles in action movies displaying his black belt martial arts skills. His roles in “Under Siege” and “Under Siege 2″ garnered him a lot of attention and put him on the map. Recently he has been seen in the movies “Driven to Kill,” “A Dangerous Man,” and “Machete” due out later this year. Now he is being sued by his former personal assistant, Kayden Nguyen, for sexual harassment and illegal sex trafficking.
According to Radar Online, the lawsuit document says that he “treated Ms. Nguyen as his sex toy.” In addition the document claims that “Mr. Seagal has been keeping two young female Russian ‘Attendants’ on staff who were available for his sexual needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
They also report that Nguyen was hired as an assistant to help him in Los Angeles and then later was flown...

When Steven Seagal appears in a film, fans can expect two things: bad acting and an overdose of glorious bone-bashing action. "Driven to Kill" brings back to life the glory days of American martial arts movies that were dominated by Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Seagal stars as Ruslan Drachev, a former Russian mobster who has given up crime to become a writer. But, you can only escape a life of crime for so long when you try to bury the skeletons of the past. When the Russian mob targets Drachev’s daughter, Ruslan bursts into action to take vengeance against the mafia. Unlike Van Damme, who would get beaten and battered before coming back to save the day, Seagal returns in this Blu-ray release unscathed after countless mob fights. The plot is contrived the start with Drachev’s daughter marrying into the crime family he left behind. Luckily,...

“Driven to Kill” is Steven Seagal’s second direct-to-dvd film this year. Yes, his second movie released on DVD in the year 2009, and movie #3 is already in the can. There’s really no way to keep track of all the Dtv films Seagal has made since his career in theatrical releases sputtered out about 6 or 7 years ago. At this point, he’s pumping out generic action movies faster than Nadya Suleman pumps out babies. Alas, these days Suleman is probably in much better physical shape. This time out, Steven Seagal is Ruslan Drachev, a former member of the Russian mob who served time in a gulag, and is now making an honest living writing crime novels. Yes, Seagal does a Russian accent here. His preoccupation with doing accents is one of life’s great mysteries, because he’s completely incapable of pulling them off believably. But then again, the faux...

A quick programming note: Today is "Oh my gosh I can't believe these guys are still kicking ass" Exclusive Clip Day. Moments ago I shared with you an exclusive first look at Dolph Lundgren in his upcoming actioner Direct Contact, and now I'm back again with some Steven Seagal action in the high-powered mafia revenge flick Driven to Kill. As you will see in the clip below, Seagal plays a highly respected former-enforcer for the New York Russian mob who is gearing up to take on a deadly criminal syndicate. The film promises plenty of violence, but what this clip delivers is something different -- I would urge you to try and assess which is more awesomely bad: Seagal's fake tan or his fake Russian accent? Driven to Kill hits DVD and Blu-ray on May 19, 2009. Check out the exclusive clip below followed by the film's official synopsis. Official Synopsis: Get ready for bullets, blood...

Yes, kids, it’s a trailer for another new Steven Seagal film. What can I say? I’ve got a weakness for the portly akido master.
The film is Ruslan, in which Seagal plays a former Russian mobster turned crime novelist on a mission of revenge against his former comrades and competitors. Here’s the synopsis:
Ruslan is a successful crime writer – his fiction a tribute to a past left behind. When he returns to his old neighborhood to attend his daughter’s wedding, his dangerous past emerges. His estranged daughter Lanie is marrying the son of Rusland’s age-old nemesis, Mikhail Arban. Since their old days together, Arban has risen from the ranks to become the leader of the brutal East Coast Russian Mafia.
When his family becomes involved, Ruslan’s worst fears are realized. On the wedding day both Deborah and Lanie are gunned down at their home,...

Earlier we looked forward to the best movies of 2009, but we also want to be on hand to remind everyone there’s a turd tidal wave on the way. Indeed, we’re about to enter a bonanza time for crap movies - January/February is traditionally where studios dump their total garbage. Cedric The Entertainer calls it home.
Here is movie-moron’s preview of the worst movies of 2009.
10. Chandni Chowk To China
Some will say this looks like fun. For the rest of us - total horseshit.
The fact this is likely to get a bigger release in the States than Oldboy did brings shame on us all.
9. Ruslan
Ever wondered what 57 year old Steven Seagal is up to these days? Well he’s still beavering away making exactly the same action films. Except the production values get worse with every movie. He refuses to change his act one bit,...
