We now get a real SAC episode, with a well thought out plot progression. The mission is defined, the team investigates and after a few clues homes into the target. The target is too hard to catch, so we need a decoy, but will section 9 be able to capture the target before he murders someone very important. Pure SAC and what the previous episodes should have been focused on.
There is an issue with this format, each episode is less than 30 minutes, which means its only half the length of a typical SAC episode. Watching the earlier episodes was triggering that, there is something wrong here, message in my brain, and I have finally worked out what it is. We are actually dealing with 12 episodes which represent no more than 6 typical episodes, if not less. Now I understand this I see that most of the episodes can be grouped together into more rounded episodes.
In the original SAC there were a few episodes where parts were not very good, however we also had good bits as well and as a result we don't consider the whole episode to be a failure. In this case we can get two very poor episodes and they stand out, there are no "good" bits to make us forget the bad bits, thus an unusual negative impression results. I think they need to go back to 45 minute episodes.
Regardless, this is a good episode, well worth a watch. I just hope the remaining episodes are as good.
