- One day, Sister Lucia woke up and found out that she was a woman before a nun. Her humanity was stronger than her vows. One day she finally decided to open her heart and confess her sin.
- On a rainy day in Rome, Sister Lucia, a middle-aged nun, walks the eternal city streets. It seems that she is carrying a weight on her shoulders. She walks into a church to pray. After a moment, she goes to the confessional to confess her sins.
Sister Lucia, a recently ordered nun, works with victims of human trafficking and prostitution at Fundazione Cristofoli, in Rome, Italy. Her job is to counsel and guide young girls out of the streets. Day by day, Sister Lucia helps girls of all ages with their recovery and reinsertion to life. Although she works with many girls, she has a soft spot for a newbie, Lavinia Esteban, a 17-year-old somewhat brash Colombian girl, who is continuously escaping from the Foundation and not following the program.
Giuditta Martino, a fifty-something single woman, is who runs the Foundation. One day, she notices that Lavinia is out again at a bar with some bad company. Once she gets back to the office, she tells Sister Lucia about the situation. Sister Lucia, a little bothered by her because she was interrupting her lunch, asks her why wouldn't she brought her back to the Foundation; she answers that that is not her actual work to go and reach for them.
In a bar in central Rome, Lavinia has lunch with some friends, Sofia, a middle-aged sex worker who is Lavinia's procurer's. Galaxia, who is in the transition to a woman and is always jealous of Lavinia, and Ania, Lavinia's only friend, but sways her friendship just for fun.
Lavinia is talking about this experience with a client, a blind man, who seems to be more than just a good lover. Galaxia is double-guessing Lavinia because of the unusual situation and undermines that being in bed with a blind man is repulsive. Sister Lucia arrives and overhears the conversation. Galaxia takes advantage of the situation to make her look bad with Sister Lucia. They both leave the restaurant.
On their way back to the Foundation, Lucia reprimands Lavinia and warns her about not escaping from the Foundation anymore. Lavinia states that she doesn't care anymore and that the only reason she is doing that is that she is saving money to leave soon. Now Lucia asks her about who this blind man is. Lavinia doesn't want to share much. Lucia assumes that is the Alias of a mobster, but Lavinia tells her that it is just a blind man, a customer, who happens to be an incredible lover.
Lucia seems curious that he is blind and asks Lavinia if that makes the difference. From here, the conversation changes, and Lavinia teases Lucia about sensations she never felt before. Alone in her room at night, she looks for an answer for God as she looks altered for that conversation about the blind man.
Days later, Lucia has to face Lavinia's friends, but she can't find them this time; instead, she notices a blind man walking near her. She follows him to his place and confronts him. The blind man confuses her with Lavinia. Following a natural impulse, Lucia pretending to be a prostitute, decides to go inside as a woman, not a nun.
The priest interrupts her story and tells her that she decided to poison her soul by following her instincts and decides not to give her a penance because her worst burden was to bear Eve's sin.
Lucia goes home, sad, feeling worse instead of relieved. Later, in her room, she thinks about what happened. In a moment of introspection, she starts smiling as she combs her hair, then in front of the mirror, naked, finds herself, as she discovers a woman in the reflection. Finally, she is free of guilt. Free as a woman.
