Cute girls playing Baseball
Yomi and Tamaki are reunited in the High School sharing the love for baseball. With some efforts, they manage to build a Highschool team.
It is actually shocking how easily the things are resolved. It looks almost unreal or impractical. In a typical sports anime, we do expect some goofy characters yet we always see them struggling hard, training a lot, doing crazy things to improve skills, seriously contemplating on a counter strategy etc. To my surprise, we hardly see any of these things in this show. As per the sportsperson standards, the girls appear too 'kawaii.' They mostly rely on natural talent and in this season, we don't really see them improving skills. Yes, we do see them training but there is nothing special to be found during their training sessions. And yet again surprisingly, the 'minnows' manage to achieve success against the seemingly more powerful and experienced opponents. Nevertheless, we do get to see some tension during the actual matches. This being one of the few things the anime does well.
The animation was average, while the songs are skippable. The voice acting cannot be called bad though. The characters do sound like the 'cute athletes' but even the personality-wise, they appear too naive. Lets see if this gets another season.
