- Georgiou uncovers the true depths of the plot against her, leading her to a revelation about how deeply her time on the U.S.S. Discovery truly changed her.
- Georgiou hopes to lead an improved Terran Empire with mirror Burnham by her side, and has the latter tortured until she pledges her allegiance. Georgiou argues that people need hope and a life to survive. The oppression is only leading to increasing rebellion every year. She says she built the Chiron to give mirror Burnham an empire, after Georgiou herself is gone. Mirror Burnham argues that there are no worlds to conquer in peace. Plus the Romulans, Andorians, Tellarites and Klingons are forming an alliance against the Empire, called the Coalition. Denobulans, Rigellians and Coridanites will likely follow. She beseeches Georgiou to attack first. But Georgiou says that the Empire cannot survive if the entire Galaxy unites against it.
Georgiou assigns mirror Tilly to torture mirror Burnham into submission. Mirror Burnham refuses to eat any food, till Georgiou reaches out to her (while she was sleeping from exhaustion), that she still cares for her. Mirror Burnham comes around, eats her food and pledges allegiance to Georgiou. Georgiou tells mirror Burnham to earn the trust of the people and then return to the fold. Mirror Burnham hunts down and kills all the co-conspirators, including Detmer to prove her loyalty to Georgiou. Georgiou also uses back channel diplomacy to break the "Coalition" alliance against her Empire.
Georgiou reveals to mirror Saru that the Kelpien biological change known as Vahar'Ai does not mean it is time for him to be culled; rather, it is a natural process that will make him stronger if he allows it to happen. Mirror Saru is perplexed and speculates that Georgiou is not Terran and asks her to return to where she is from.
Mirror Burnham and Georgiou work together to hunt Burnham's former lover Gabriel Lorca. She says that Lorca left her to die, and nothing will give her greater pleasure to track him down and kill him. They find an encoded message sent to Lorca by his trusted man Duggan. Georgiou and mirror Burnham track Duggan's signal to planet Risa. But this is a ruse and Burnham soon turns on Georgiou. Mirror Burnham teams with mirror Culber, and mirror Airiam to trap Georgiou away from her security team. Mirror Burnham considers all of Georgiou's acts of mercy as signs of weaknesses in her. Meanwhile, Georgiou insists that she has seen a different way to live, and to rule. Mirror Tilly and mirror Saru arrive to save Georgiou. After a fight, Georgiou kills mirror Burnham before dying herself in Saru's arms.
Georgiou wakes up in the Prime Universe and finds that it has only been a moment after she walked through Carl's door, even though she spent more than 3 months in the parallel Universe. Georgiou also finds that her physical phase shifts are not yet cured. She is still in intense physical pain. Carl reveals himself to be the Guardian of Forever. Carl is a space time portal. He explains that he can send Georgiou to another time and place where she will survive, but he had to test her first and was happy to see her attempt to change the fate of the Terran Empire. She tried for peace and saved a Kelpien.
Georgiou says goodbye to Burnham before traveling through the Guardian's portal to a time when the mirror Universe and Prime Universe were still aligned. Georgiou tells Burnham that while Saru has done an admirable job, Burnham herself is a far better fit for the Captain's chair.
On Discovery, Book wishes to prove his worth to the crew and uses Emerald Chain technology to help them connect to the computer systems of the Kelpien star ship in the Verubin Nebula. Adira and Stamets were struggling to hack into the Kelpien ship their own long-range sensors. Book uses Emerald Chain technology to boost signals within subspace. Vance says that Osyraa is desperate for Dilitium and would to get her hands on Discovery due to its Spore Drive. He asks Saru to be careful before using Emerald Chain technology to achieve short term objectives. Burnham is devastated to lose Georgiou.
