Arguably this was the best episode to date, featuring plenty of plot twists, the glimmer of what's actually been going on, and best of all, we get a fabulous cliffhanger. This episode really does showcase why I love Durbridge's writing so very much, you're driven up plenty of blind alleys, you have a wealth of characters, some of which are lying, plus you feel genuine sympathy for the central character, Sam. One of the major triumphs here, is just when you think you know who the guilty party is, the rug is pulled from under your feet, leaving you clueless as to who the bad guy actually is. The cliffhanger was the best to date, quite chilling, simple really, but 'don't answer the door' left me desperate to see the conclusion, and as has been my habit to watch one episode per day, I can't, I need to see what's going to happen.
I loved the penultimate part. 9/10
