Aram Rappaport’s cyber thriller “A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island” has added a couple of interesting names to its cast, including a pair of strong TV female leads in Mary McCormack (USA’s “In Plain Sight”) and Maggie Q., who is wrapping up the final season of her CW action series “Nikita”. The film also has Minnie Driver and Dianna Agront, along with John Leguizamo, Ed Westwick, AnnaSophia Robb, and Dominic Cooper. Frank Grillo will star as an ex-Wall Street man “whom the Secretary of the Treasury enlists to thwart a cyber attack that threatens to derail the American economy. With the help of his wife, he recruits his ragtag team of misfits, and prepares to save the world from total financial implosion.” No idea who is playing who (except Grillo), but “The Conspiracy on Jekyll Island” is set for 2014. Rappaport previously directed 2009′s “Innocent” and recently, “Syrup” with Amber Heard and Shiloh Fernandez.

With staggering sex appeal and serious star power that has lasted generations, Mick Jagger is more than a man; he's an icon. Which makes casting someone to play his younger self in a movie a pretty daunting endeavor. (Like casting Freddie Mercury almost!) But at long last the search of Get On Up filmmakers has ended, as THR announces Nick Eversman has signed on to play the Rolling Stones front man in the James Brown biopic. Eversman has an impressive list of film and TV credits considering he only made his screen debut in 2009 in a little-known crime-drama called Innocent. Since then, he has appeared in televisions shows like The Missing, CSI: Miami and House, as well as landed roles in movies like Hellraiser: Revelations, Vampires Suck, and the horror-thriller The Depraved. However, he might be best recognized as a series regular on the new CW sci-fi show The Tomorrow...

• Olympus Has Fallen may have fizzled critically (EW gave Antoine Fuqua’s action pic a C), but Millennium Films is hoping to get traction on a sequel, called London Has Fallen. The $70 million pic made about $98.9 million domestically for a worldwide total of $161 million. Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman are expected to reprise their roles from the first film. Fuqua (Training Day) will not be returning to direct, but they will use the same screenwriting team from the first film. Shooting on the sequel is already set for May 2014, and the plot will center on a terrorist attack...

Featuring one of Hollywood’s hottest, but underutilized actresses, Amber Heard alongside Shiloh Fernandez, Syrup is based on the 1999 Max Barry’s comic novel of the same name.
A satirical comedy of marketing and consumerism is co-written and directed by Aram Rappaport (Innocent).
The story follows Scat (Fernandez) who discovers the idea for a new soda beverage named Fukk. He pitches it to ‘6’ (Heard), the production manager at Coke, who agrees that it has massive potential to make them rich. But Scat’s roommate Sneaky Pete (Kellan Lutz) sees this opportunity to climb the corporate ladder, and steals the idea.
While Brad Pitt, Winona Ryder, Tom Cruise and Gwyneth Paltrow all make appearances in the book, something tells us this indie didn’t manage to get them.
The film also stars Brittany Snow.
No release date or distributor yet.
