The pilot was NOT a Fluke. This series continues to impress.
jester-405643 March 2021
We start the ep seeing our 4 leads moving into the Smallville farm and getting their new lives in order. Everyone has their own storylines and they all get a chance to shine. Lois is following up on Morgan Edge (and also has some great interactions with the Smallville Gazette reporter), Jon is having to deal with the football team & being left out of the Father-Son bonding (he is really becoming a highlight), Jordan does some testing at the Fortress and Clark has Luthor to deal with.

The battles between Superman & Luthor continue to look great and the special effects are very well done. We even had Superman leaving Earth's Atmosphere at one point and it was quite the sight.

I also liked that not everything is portrayed as completely black & white. We get the point of view and motives of some of the secondary cast. Kyle explains to Lois why even some new jobs in Smallville are better than nothing and Luthor explains his motives for going after Superman (including an amazing flashback!).

With only 2 episodes in, this is becoming the cant miss show of 2021.

Ending definitely saved the episode for me.

For some reason the pacing this episode did not sit week with me, eveything felt kind of rushed and very fast. But that ending! Feeling some Homelander vibes.

Great second episode!
This show keeps blowing me away, every single scene is beautiful. The relationship between the brothers is amazing. I love the family Clarke and Lois made. Lois is also fantastic! The whole show is just perfect. Better then the pilot!

Another excellent episode! Didnt think 1x02 would top the pilot but it did
ldamena3 March 2021
This show is amazing, from the characters to the actors to the writing it's the Superman show we didn't know that we needed. I know that Jordan can and will probably get on people's nerves but IMO he's a realistic portrayal of a teen with severe anxiety problems. He's gonna experience highs and lows as the show progresses. What matters though is how much he loves his family. I love how the heart of Superman and Lois is the Kent family: their love for each other & the hardships they face as an everyday family. Esp, since Lois and Clark's sons found out that their dad is Superman. I'm also enjoying how equal Lois and Clark's marriage is. There's no Superman without Lois and this show shows that. I love my girl, esp when she's going after Morgan Edge. I definitely get that Lane spirit from her. She's a hero without the powers and an excellent mother to boot. That ending holy boloney! I can kind of understand Captain Luthor to a degree now but still think his hatred goes overbboard.

Haven't felt like this about a DC show since Arrow can't wait to see where it goes but so far 10/10 all around from me

The Man of Tomorrow
GomezAddams6663 March 2021
When this series started I had written off almost the entire Arrowverse, but the series premiere blew me away.

The second episode was just as good, not only does it have a lot of thrilling superhero action, but deep inside the show is all about family, and the Kents really represent the love and conflicts families experience.

I like how they treat the small town situation with respect, and I love how the characters are incredibly human, there is a lot of emotions in these well written characters.

I can honestly say that this is a character driven story, where everything they do is for a reason. Even the main antagonist, who must have a reason to hate the Man of Tomorrow, but I guess we'll get to see that as well as the story progresses.

All around a magnificent episode in a well-crafted series.

Another good episode
confidential-678973 March 2021
2 episodes in and I'm still pleasantly impressed with this show, I was honestly expecting a supergirl / batwoman woke fest without bad acting and terrible writing. But this show hits all the relevant marks. A good family show that doesn't go out of its way to annoy its fan base. For a change I will say well done CW.

Well-executed Episode 2. Excited for Episode 3. I don't like Jordan.
jamericanbeauty3 March 2021
Both my grandads died before I was born, so I found the "hologramps" scene touching and pretty cool (and very informative to the plot). Jordan continues to yell or mope. Only his one-on-one scenes with his brother have hope and optimism. His parents and brother left their lives behind in Metropolis for him. Some gratitude would be nice. Take a shot every time Lois says "living wage". Giants like Walmart and Amazon may be able to afford a "living wage" known as $15/hour these days, but the small florist shop down the street from me cannot. $15 per hour is not one size fits all. Profits, supply and demand determine wages. Speaking of Amazon, Lois is battling her very own Jeff Bezos. His name is Morgan Edge and like Bezos, he's a wealthy CEO who also owns a newspaper, The Daily Planet, to control the narrative and hide the fact that he's a vulture capitalist who decimates small towns like Smallville. Lois has a career-defining moment when she confronts him. Instead of a forced cringeworthy feminist power trip scene, the scene was her standing up for unbiased reporting and journalistic integrity while standing by her article. The best parts of the episode were the Superman action and fight sequences, the sound, score and special effects were all perfect. Tyler Hoechlin continues to strike the perfect balance between Clark Kent and Superman and we get some insight into his history and (dark multiverse??) connection to the villain. CW, thank you for another well-written, character-driven episode. Please keep identity politics and hardcore agenda-pushing writing out. It's nice to escape for an hour and enjoy a show on CW again.

Superman Vs Master Chief
Roydsy_Reviews8 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So now neither Lois Lane or Clark Kent work for the Daily Planet? What is this nonsense????

Jordan must be the only 14 year old ever to be upset he can't go to school. He initiates the first of two 'Sookie Stackhouse Stormoff's' executed during this episode. Instead, he has to learn how to use his super powers with his father 'a living god'. What a ungrateful tool.

When Superman takes him to the fortress of solitude he continues to be an absolute duche nozzle executing the second 'Sookie Stackhouse Stormoff' after Jor-El say's he aint Sh#t compared to Superman. No Sh#t I say.

He is 'Super' annoying. Even his brother had enough in this episode to give him a reality check. Good to see him pull his head in afterwards.

The action sequences were fantastic in this episode!

Over all, I enjoyed this more than the pilot. Hopefully it stays on track.

A very good season is coming
alex_m-056293 March 2021
Some people think that in episode 1 it's Lex Luthor, who is played by an African-American in the series. But it is advisable to watch episode 2 and they will understand how wrong they are. This episode reinforced the feeling of the premiere. It's pretty well done, and after watching it I'm sure the series will keep its good quality until the end of the season.

Decent episode, few annoyances though
JuanSolo03 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Solid follow up to the first episode. Much better show than Supergirl and significantly better than Batwoman. Less wokeness, great acting and much better writing.

Lois is well acted by Bitsie but some of her scripting, other than being so over the top about a "living wage" as if it is evil paying the minimum wage upwards, the fact she wants to publish a scathing article about Morgan Edge without barely knowing nothing about him calling him a "vampire" is insane journalism. Quite clearly represents current news channels like CNN who publish articles without any clear evidence. No editor, even if they are not owned by Edge would not publish libel.

Not really sure why everyone blames Jordan for kissing Sarah either, especially as she didn't give signals and not pull away and he didn't know she had a boyfriend. This was weirdly scripted making him the villain.

Great show so far, keep it up!

I hope the stars of this show have Long careers.... on Other shows.
greenhavenall4 March 2021
This show continues to disappoint. It has the same atmosphere as the Cavil Superman movie, disturbingly depressing. It refuse to follow cannon, either the comics OR the Arrowverse it is Supposed to be part of. It has Kyle, a stereotype to be sure, but an entirely accurate one. Living in western Missouri, there are enough REAL Kyle's around, I DON'T want TRASH like that in my entertainment too. Being a compulsive completist, I will add this piece of excrement to my collection so that I have So that I have ALL of the Arrowverse shows, but I doubt I will Ever watch another episode in it's entirety. Thank the Gods for fast forward. On the otherhand, it does make Black Lightning seem like great entertainment by comparison. I look forward to this show being Cancelled.

Heritage is a great followup episode, Superman and Lois has a bright future
Holt3443 March 2021
Heritage is directed by Lee Toland Krieger and it's a great followup to the incredible pilot episode that we got to experience last week. They build on that and its characters in a fantastic way, the characters still feel realistic and I hope it stays that way. The staff writers does a great job, from the dialogue to the story. Fantastic writing and the character interactions feel natural and realistic, even more so than the pilot. You can see from the huge attention to detail that the director cares for the characters and the mythology which is always good in comic book adaptions.

When adjusting to their new lives in Smallville, Lois and Clark make an important decision concerning one of their sons; tensions begin to rise between Lois and Morgan Edge. That's the premise and you don't have to know about the rest, as there's some great character development and interesting ideas that the creators are going for. New but familiar sets are introduced, again the huge attention to detail is insane, the prop and set departments did a phenomenal job at making the world feel real.

The Kent family remain well written and realistic, great acting performances by all four of them. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch stands out the most of the cast. But I want to talk about the villain Captain Luthor that got introduced in the previous episode, you might wonder how a black actor portrays a different Luthor and it's because of the Multiverse and fairly certain that he's here because of the Crisis event. I'm really enjoying the character and how grey the character is. The action sequences were great! Exactly how I want them look and feel like, the music was once again very powerful.

Father-to-Son time, and some Lois Lane business to do.
wetmars4 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Beautiful episode, more character development, the shots are still amazing, the men that are picking on Jordan and Jonathan are complete a-holes. Hopefully, they will soon get a lesson. We get more answers for the alternate Luthor. He comes from a world where Superman was evil and committed genocide. The alternate military guy told Luthor to avenge them. I have faith in this show. I am enjoying this show so far.

Twice the action. In the plot, Lois Lane is having a problem with a guy named Morgan Edge who keeps corrupting small towns in order to choose the only option; she quit. I liked the plotline well. Here, Clark and Jordan go to the good old Fortress of Solitude. The A.I. version of Jor-El reveals that Jordan isn't fit like his father so, he gets upset like he usually would. Later in the plot, Clark gets an alert that Luthor has arrived in the Department of Defense to find kryptonite. Much later on, it's revealed that it wasn't Luthor. It was a robotic version.

10/10.

Good Second Episode to The Start of a Great Series
TOrockchick4 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited to see that there was going to be a series for Clark and Lois and so far it hasn't disappointed me yet. I do like how it shows each member of the family struggling in some way to fit into this new life.

Along the way they find a way to make things work and be more of a cohesive family. Even with Clark having to deal with Captain Luthor and finding more about his past. I'm starting to believe that this Luthor is from another Earth and was brought to this one after the Crisis merge. This could be why he's got such a grudge against our Clark and is determined to bring him down. I think in time Clark will prove to him that he's different.

2 episodes in and I am I really impressed with this show so far.
jacobt-1407322 August 2023
I started this expecting a cheesy Superman show about love but it's much more than that. Although it can be a little cheesy it's much more tolerable than I thought it was gonna be. I love that there are actual villains and big fight scenes in this. Hoechlin's performance so far has surprised me a lot. The overall plot of the first 2 episodes was exiting and kept me glued to the TV. The actress who plays Lois is pretty phenomenal as well. The taller kid playing the one sibling seems to be the better actor of the 2. I can't wait to see what happens next. Enjoying this show so far and will keep on watching !

Lois takes center stage
RahulM0074 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The second episode of Superman & Lois fittingly titled "Heritage" delves further into the Stranger's origins and gave us our first look at post-Crisis Morgan Edge.

Lois' narration at the start of the episode was a neat touch and relatable to everyone who had to adjust to a new environment and leave everything behind.

In the Stranger's eyes, Superman is actually the villain and he sees himself as the hero. Could it be that the Stranger's version of Superman is in fact Ultraman, the evil counterpart of Superman? I am really digging the rivalry between the Stranger aka the new Lex Luthor and Superman. Things will only get more intense.

What I enjoyed the most is the relationship between Clark and Jordan and how it became stronger when visiting the Fortress of Solitude and talking with the A.I. version of Jor-El. However, things take a rather dramatic turn at the end when it turns out that Jordan's powers is supposedly just a one time thing and he has quite a breakdown due to that. The show does a phenomenal job at portraying someone with a social anxiety disorder. That's why Jordan is a relatable character for me. I myself suffer from a social anxiety disorder.

The episode introduces Lois' villain of the season Morgan Edge and they have quite a heated and intense discussion going on during the town hall meeting. At the end of the episode, Lois decides to resign from the Daily Planet after Morgan Edge completely changed her entire article about him.

I watched the extended cut of the episode on the CW site, and it had quite a heated confrontation between Clark and Sam Lane. Clark finds out that Sam is storing kryptonite, in order to keep it from entering someone else's possession. Clark is not too keen on the idea, but lets it slide for the time being. I'm guessing that this will play an even bigger role in the coming episodes. The Stranger needs kryptonite to defeat Superman and finally be at peace with himself. I wonder if he is going to manipulate Sam in giving him the kryptonite, knowing him very well on his earth.

Superman & Lois stands on its own than the rest of the Arrowverse shows and it benefits from it. It does not follow the repetitive tropes or storylines (thus far), rather it offers something unique and exciting for viewers. Like the Flash and Stargirl, it has the perfect blend of humour, family drama and action. The HBO Max budget that goes into the show is particularly noticeable when watching the episodes.

To conclude, Superman & Lois maintains its momentum and upholds the sheer brilliance of the pilot. I would not say that it was particularly better than the pilot, but it comes very close to matching it. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch once again shine as Clark and Lois respectively.

Final verdict: 9.7/10

Heritage
Prismark1013 December 2021
Superman and Lois is still doing its world building.

Captain Luthor is an intriguing character and it was a dark flashback with a evil Superman.

The series is also setting up another villain with Morgan Edge, a smarmy businessman and the new owner of the Daily Planet.

There is plenty to keep Superman and Lois busy here.

The focus on Jonathon and Jordan does seem like a weak point. I guess that is for the teenage demographics. I did like Jor-El was modelled on Russell Crowe.
