You can tell much of the movie is filmed by this documentary's filmmakers because the quality is the same... Meanwhile, the "burned footage" used was from what had been already uploaded onto Joe's internet show, so it's basically reused footage: for example, Joe's threats against Carole using the doll, etc... This footage looks grainy while the actual documentary footage looks crisp and high definition. Even if that other footage existed, these filmmakers would use their own footage, or else they'd have to credit Joe Exotic TV director Rick Kirkham as a co-director, basically... PS Documentaries are real, but also very contrived... The filmmakers probably had to recreate much of what was destroyed: as you can see, Joe is being filmed by them as if they were HIS crew...
