There are six seasons, one for each year inclusive of 1996 to 2001.
During On The Red Dot (2012)'s Reunions: Under One Roof And Growing Up (2021) during the Chinese New Year period on Mediacorp's ChannelNewsAsia in 2021, when Soon Hui Wee (as Mrs. Tay) was speaking about joining the cast, she and her on-screen husband Kay Tong Lim (as Mr. Tay) revealed for the first time that they are actually related in real life. As Soon Hui explained, Kay Tong is actually her mother's cousin twice removed.
David (played by Steven Lim) and Tammy (played by Jamie Yeo) served as the occasional voice narrators for seasons one to five, before the teenage Chee Keong (played by David Tan) in the sixth and final season.
While the opening theme music remains constant through the entire six seasons, there are different singers for one to two seasons. Original composer Chong Gim Hwee for the first season, Diana Ser (who would be later known as a television journalist in Singapore) for the second season, Jacintha Abisheganaden for the third season, Ann Hussein for the fourth and fifth season.
Apart from the understandable change of whom plays Tammy from child to youth to adult (Wen Qing Fan for season 1, Sue-Shan Quek for season 2, Jamie Yeo for seasons 3 to 6), the character of Poh Choo saw three different actresses playing the daughter whom was given up until returning back to the Tay family: Suzanne Ho, Evelyn Tan, Sue Tan.
