Finally, a good episode
pauli_gomez19 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After two fillers, this was a good episode, when people gathering together and advancing the plot. But there are some stupid things, that are spoilers (below).

The deaths were really bad. The religious man died in the most stupid way, and Julius, who was a great character, will be very much missed. He made the show better.

nothing is sacred anymore

Warning: Spoilers
What a waste of an awesome character like Julius for an insignificant thing.

These writers should be branded.

A monster mash indeed
Bardok8200016 March 2022
With Vanessa still missing in action, not that I care, we're left in the capable hands of Violet and her subordinate gentle giant Julius. The opening scene is the dark one speaking to Lukas through the head of his former master, the costumes from the wardrobe department clearly took inspiration from Batman and Robin, they are ridiculous. He is tasked with finding Violet and killing her to retrieve the amulet, threatened with a painful death should he fail, ooooh. Then for some reason Ivory, starts screaming incoherent lines from the top of her lungs, Violet comes to find out what all the fuss is and thinks maybe she should stop, because they're still being hunted so maybe don't attract every vampire within a 50 mile radius. Apparently its a war cry from Ivory's days in the sisterhood, she tells Vi about how much they were feared by other vampires. I thought vampires were supposed to be different from their human persona, but here Ivory is reliving the glory days almost as if she's proud and misses that life. Like, wtf show?? Then she coaxes Violet to do her own war scream, which she does. Why??? A minute ago she said that was a bad idea. The scenes leads onto an unnecessary history lesson from Violet about when the British were fighting America. Which is just more blatant exposition to give characters more substance. Ivory remembers this and talks about feeding on soldiers like someone would talk about the weather. A perfectly normal conversation. Like I said, it's ok cause she's a woman. To be honest, Ivory is just another character who's story has reached it's end but the writers just won't kill her off. I wonder if it's simply down to the show having so many bloody writers, that they're just trying to balance out the ratio. Anyway, it only takes them 5 minutes before they run into Axel and Julius hunkered up inside a church via the hospitality of a father. Before too long, Lukas and his ilk come calling. Violet finds a body in the crypt beneath the church and shocker, it's jack. Violet uses more abilities that come out of nowhere that help her discover this. After a massive fight, Julius is injured before Lukas and his ilk come calling and breaks into the church. Docs newly developed weapon-x formula comes into play, and Julius injects himself ready to take on Lukas. This was obviously ripped from "Logan" where Wolverine is aging and doesn't heal as well so requires a chemical to power up. The fight begins, and here is another opportunity for the crappy choreography to be put on full display. After a lot of shifting and hulk grunts, Julius inevitably wins out but only after being critically injured, much to Violets horror. Monster mash they did, but a graveyard smash it was not. The scene fails to create any impact stemming from the fact that we've seen Julius die and come back too many times. Violet cries out in anger, the group hears this and Ivory returns with her own war cry, seriously that's the pay off. What a joke.

Julius does actually die here, and Aleks Paunovic's acting isn't the worst surprisingly, but other than that there's nothing to be gained, they just carry on as always. Next!!!

The gangs coming together
Calicodreamin16 July 2021
Well it was cool too see most of the gang get back together and slay some vamps. The storyline was fairly well developed. Another couple of characters are one and done as the show wrestles with dwindling numbers.
