Geralt tells Ciri she probably has magic powers from her mother. The two follow an urge into the woods. They fight a leshy and an even stronger scorpion monster. Ciri runs and hides. Cornered and trapped, Geralt arrives and kills the creature.
Cahir is taken to his execution in front of the Northern elite. Yennefer is given the axe. She surprises everyone by cutting his bonds instead, both escape on a horse.
