Another one of Gibbs' boring friends in this episode, and another fairly boring episode of the show. Hoping NCIS can get back on track.

"Lonely Hearts" is another average episode in this unimpressive season. It's not awful, but manages to be pretty stupid at times.
Let's start with the good aspects.
. The production values of the episode are great. "Lonely Hearts" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery and the acting's fine for the most part.
. The mystery is engaging at times and I did like the subplots about Torres and Sloane. Sloane's storyline with her daughter has been very well handled in this season.
But...
. The jokes feel done to death and do not land- some of them are embarrassing. The mystery ends in a cliched fashion and there are dumb moments in the mystery - especially scenes regarding Phil, who is a very annoying character.
Overall, an average episode.
