Surprise Stinger to Push ODAAT Back on It's Feet
Season 4 of ODAAT hasn't quite felt like itself. I figured this episode would be no exception. Elevating the uncanny valley of the sitcoms style that the show unfortunately fell into felt likely with the animated special. But I was wrong. The numbers don't show it on here, but it's the best of the season. It felt like a complete episode in comparison to the rest of the season. I probably laughed more and felt more during this episode than I have the rest of the season so far combined. Sure, it wasn't the same show people have become accustomed to for three seasons, but it shined as bright as it in a different way. Maybe it was the medium, allowing them to get away with more. Maybe it was the break allowing them to alter the episode to fan perception. Whatever it was, it was the breath of fresh air this season needed.

The worst episode of the series
It's such a shame this is the episode that ODAAT went out on. Sounds like there's no hope for a third revival. The episode before this was beautiful, a funny but ultimately touching episode involving a misunderstanding. This one just felt off. It's animated (due to the pandemic) and the sound is off. The laugh track is gone, the animation wasn't particularly brilliant, Leslie is missing, Avery is missing, the humor just wasn't there. It was very preachy and sometimes hard to watch. This is coming from a hardcore Liberal, believe me when I say I hated Trump. I hated everything about the guy. He was a pathetic loser and he always will be. ODAAT has always been political but having an entire episode based on Trump's politics and listening to the relatives' takes on politics was just exhausting and not very funny. This and the pot episode were the only two bad episodes of the show, everything else has been great.
It sucks that we will never get a fitting end. In my heart, Elena and Sid are kicking ass in college, Alex and his gf are doing great, Schneider proposes to Avery and she says yes, and Leslie and Lydia are in a romantic relationship much to Penelope's shock.
If I was rich I'd find a way to rescue the series and give it another season or two (or maybe even three!) but alas I'm a broke ass actor in NY so I'll just be sad!!

I didn't like it
I felt it is just filler not a good drawing and feels like an Awareness episode more than funny
Horrible Political Gaslighting
I couldn't even make it thru this whole episode. I normally don't agree with the political statements on the show but they're normally based on an individual family point of view, with a lot of heart. Allows you to understand and feel their struggles with laughter mixed in. This episode is just completely hateful. Turned my stomach and after 15 minutes I just had enough. If you're a far leftist with no empathy for humanity that doesn't 100% agree with you'll love this episode. That's not normal people. Most people care about their neighbors and fellow human beings.
I'll keep watching the show hoping this type of writing doesn't become the norm.
A fitting end to this unfunny series
Not surprised it was finally cancelled (now twice - once by Netflix and now by POP TV). Writers really failed in every way on this episode.
