Johnny LaRue Runs For City Council
Jimmy_the_Gent416 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
A hilarious episode built around LaRue's run for office. He has a bunch of people posing as his family.

Next is a promo for The Silly B******d. It is a spoof of a recent TV mini series The B*****d with Andrew Steven and Tom Bosley. Dave Thomas plays the title role here, an illegitimate idiot. John Candy plays Bosley playing Ben Franklin.

We go to Election Central where Floyd and Earl are reporting on the election returns. We see a very funny debate where Earl shows his preference for LaRue, especially since he is his campaign manager! The opponents are Shirley McClinnon Black (Catherine O'Hara) a former actress. This is based on Shirley Temple Black, the former child star turned politician. Dave plays Jack Brown, the war mongering third candidate.

O'Hara has a funny promo for the new show One Is Enough, a spoof of Three's Company, she plays a ditz who has no room mates.

A great commercial for Maxwell House Coffee is next, Andrea Martin plays Margaret Hamilton (Wicked Witch from Wizard Of Oz), who at that time was doing coffee commercials. When a stock boy won't drink her coffee, she sends her flying monkeys after him!

As election returns wind down Earl tries to come with statistics but Floyd keeps asking "What's your point?"

A commercial for career choices on matchbooks are next. Dave has a very funny line at the end, "Don't just sit there picking your teeth with it!"

We then learn Shirley M Black won the election, LaRue got about 5 votes. Earl shows up at his campaign headquarters where drunken Johnny roughs up Earl and calls the people of Melonville idiots. Floyd tells Earl that Black will filing charges on him while the credits roll.
